  • August 1976, Galax Va. Stompin 76 bluegrass festival, flat on my back stoned out of my mind, the people camped nearby had the 8 track of this album repeating all night, like from midnight till dawn yeah I'm an old degenerate, I just laid there and watched the satellites sail by and listened to Vassar.

  • @jayhackworth I was at stompin 76 Of course I don't remember much

  • @Imaginaryman

I think it seems like yesterday to me because I met my wife there. Stay well, friend.

  • @Imaginaryman

  • I have had this LP since it first came out. This is real Bluegrass at it's best performed by some of the best. Loose, Casual and Live! Good for the soul. I have played Bluegrass all my life and performed at Renfro Valley,KY and Sunset Park,PA. Listen, hear that???? This is the real stuff!

  • @MrRonincolorado Darn right,I owned it myself.

  • @MrRonincolorado

Yeah, been to West Grove many times, the last was backstage with Loretta Lynn, the vibrations from the stage caused a birds nest to fall down fro the rafters, Loretta really got upset and stopped the show and made them put it back. :) Hope you are well, still playin.

  • My baby daughter and I just love dancing around the kitchen to this old jam. Thanks for posting.

  • the ocean, or the desert?

  • Midnight Moonlight, hands down the best bluegrass song, but the best done by Jerry and the band. All together as one jolly group makes it the most enjoyable music around!

  • thank you for posting this-- different version that what i have and has brought much joy to my heart

  • I love Old & In The Way. Love this album. This is one of the best albums ever done. And this is the way music should be played. A bunch of people getting together just to play music and enjoying what they are doing. No need for the hit singles, hit albums, hit videos, absolutely none of that is needed. Just play what y'all want to play and have fun doing it. Bluegrass. The best and purest American music there is. Here before the garbage of today and will still be around after all that is gone.
