I know very little about this guitar other then I own it now. Found a guy selling his best friends Damien Elite FR on craigslist pretty much never been played in new case. I got the guitar and case for $300 and the guitar is practally perfect, no flaws or problems. How did I do?

Very nice guitar. I own one, but replaced the Emg's with a Seymour Duncan SH-4 Trembucker in the bridge, and an SH-2 in the neck. I never got into active pickups. They just sound so sterile, with far less variation in tone than a well made passive pickup. But those are just my ears...

while elite has bolt on and less features

@Xteam2008Vidz in terms of specs its not . The hellraiser has a set neck while this has a bolt on and it has 81/89 emgs which can be coil tapped . The hellraiser also comes with an original floyd rose not a special floyd rose (The original is better) . But it all depends on personal taste .

It has the same specs as the other Damien Elites... There isn't a point in doing the same guitar over again, even if it has a different body shape.

@zqmbfg i'm pretty sure it's got some kind of finish on it, but when i played one, it didn't feel glossy at all. it felt a lot like the RG neck in terms of feeling sanded. aside from that, it doesn't play like an RG at all, though.

@vendettav15 Most guitars with 24 frets have thinner necks which ain't good for barre chord grips. I could've gotten a guitar with everything they explained except for the finish but because of brags about hard-shell cases I got a Dean Razorback DB Floyd instead. It's got lightning graphics, though. For better barre chord grips check out some of the Gibson models. The thick necks they have gives you the traditional feel.

@XRGDARKN3SS They're pretty much equal in quality, really between comparable LTD and Schecter models, just pick the one you think looks cooler, or try out the necks, Schecters tend to have thicker necks than other metal and rock guitars.

To decide you should listen both of them very closely to see which ton you like better.

You guys always have some great demos. :) Scott, you can really play your fuckin' nuts off! The 85 sounds great for high gain neck soloing but I personally like less breakup on my clean sound. Still, good to see Schecter making offerings like the Damien Elite FR. It's almost like a bolt-on MH-series LTD with active pups.

thats a great guitar, i dont like the fretboard, but i love the sound, it's very expressive.

i totally hate any neck position and often use bridge or middle in 90% of cases, but on this guitar it sounds nice.
