  • What exactly is a cross strung harp? i play the harp and i was wondering if theres a difference in sound or anything

  • @honeybunny617 cross strung was devised in Spain during the Renaissance. a 'response' to the Italian arpa doppia (double line). The diatonic and chromatic (white and black keys in a piano) notes are crossed, so there is no need for levers or pedals. Both hands can reach the strings either above or bellow the crossing. therefore, you can play any piece. There is a third Spanish invention: 3 lines, the semitones being in the centre line

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!! GRATULATION!

  • Hi, Mary,

Thanks so much! This very simple little piece is one that I arranged for very beginning cross-strung players to enjoy. I will be posted more videos of music on cross-strung harp in the near future, so stay tuned!
