Do banelings suffer from the same problem as Infested terrans in starcraft I? I remember that it took a lot of micro to do that kind of shit with infested terrans because the splash damage from the first one blowing up would take out all the nearby ones so it was really hard to steamroll a base like that. Do banelings' damage effect your units or just your enemies?

so i have a question about the banelings being used as a landmine. do you have to detonate them urself or wil they do it automatically if any enemy unit comes in range?

@bob123789456 they do it themselves, blowing up is their normal attack.

@bob123789456 If they are burrowed, they explode only upon your command, if they are above ground however and are engaged they will engage the enemy and thus blowing themselves up.

But mostly it's a bad idea sending in only banelings, because at a certain amount of units they aren't able to reach the enemy before they die. I.e. if a terran has a massive M&M&M Ball and stims them, all banelings will be shot down, if he moves away and fires and repeats that.
