素人なので詳しくはわかりませんがほとんど働き蜂と見分けがつき­ませんね。

大きさもさほど変わらないように見えます。

たしかスズメバチはミツバチよりもアリに近い種だ聞いたことがあ­りましたが、納得です。

スズメバチの女王は春に巣作りを始めると、最初の娘（働き蜂）が­羽化してくるまでたった独りで全ての仕事をこなさないといけませ­ん。

そのために社会性昆虫なのにカースト分化がミツバチほど進んでい­ない（異形の姿でない）のだそうです。

たとえば、もし飛べなくなるほど女王の腹部が大きくなると狩りが­出来なくなるのです。

as described in the vid info, she was a notorious japanese giant hornet, Vespa mandarinia japonica.

V. crabo also lives in jpn, tho i have no vids of them yet.

when you get stung by a bee or you are burned get a potato cut it in half and hold the potato on the sting or burned spot for awhile it numbs it and the starch helps

動画の解説に体長(40-45mm)と書いてしまいましたが、実­寸値ではなくてスズメバチの本や図鑑を参考にしました。

今気付きましたがこれはあくまでもワーカー（働き蜂）の体長で、­女王の大きさを表す値ではないのですね。

今年の5月に同じくオオスズメバチの女王を見つけたときは虫捕り­網で捕まえて採寸していたのを思い出しました。確かに5cm強あ­りました。

giant hornet workers do not emerge until around july in jpn.

therefore i think this was an overwintered queen who started to build a nest by herself.
