flagship is always in the highest market demographic, new york is 1, los angeles is 2. there is also flagship stations by coast, such as WABC is the east coast flagship of ABC while KABC is the west coast flagship of ABC. Samething goes with WNBC and KNBC and WCBS and KCBS.

Well, not quite. LIN TV's flagship is WPRI in Providence, LIN's home city, though their biggest station by market size is WISH in Indy.

Diana wanted more time with her family, Roz got kicked off 5 pm and moved to CBS2 where she crashed and burned. Why they didn't move Roz over to 6 and 11 I do not know.

and a decision by ABC back in the 60s for its O&O stations (all the O&O stations was on ch7. the same thing with the music for the news (ABC O&O used Cool Hand Luke in the 1970s for its news opens (ie WXYZ Action News, WABC Eyewitness News, etc)

Except the particular EDIT, with the sound as it was, was only used by WABC, WLS and WXYZ - KABC and KGO, though they too used the "CHL" music, did their own edits which differed from what originated at WABC (and if you compare, the "CHL" music sounded cleaner at KABC and KGO).
