It may stated in the bible as a sin, but diversity is part of the world we are living in and it should be explained to the children as soon as possible. Elementary school children are learning about their gender roles at that age. Boys are attracted to boys socially to learn about masculinity. Girls are attracted to girls socially to learn about femininity.

That response is null in void. You are missing the point about human development in social sciences. Boys are attracted to boys socially in grade school. Girls are attracted to girls in grade school socially. The teaching of a romantic partnership with a member of the same sex to kids who are attracted to members of the same gender is damaging. Just an example: A straight person meets somebody and they get married and have family. Some years later, the kids ask how their parents met. Do they say that mommy and Daddy met and had sex? Sexual orientation isn't about sex. It's about love and so much more.

I don't know about the rest of the you, but I had my first sex ed class in fourth grade. I'm a girl so I got the speech about periods and what a uterus is. I'm also pretty sure that we talked about sex in general.
Therefore I see nothing wrong with explaining homosexuality. If I was a gay little girl going through a class that ignored homosexuality. I would be very confused. It's only fair and correct to at least mention same sex attraction.

I think gay marriage opponents are living in fear of things they've been told will happen if gay marriage is legalized. The middle east allows polygamy, but they don't allow gay marriage. While it is possible polygamy could be legal in the US one day, it would not be because of gay marriage ENTIRELY. The US has a rising Islamic population (through immigration and converting) and immigrants from countries where it is legal. They would play a role in this, as well.

There are millions of American who are gay and bisexual. Are you saying that we should treat them as we used to treat blacks? Secondclass citizens?
Why should homosexuals not have children? You cant say that they will raise gay children, because homosexaulity is genetic. Plus, if it is strictly nuture, then why do straight couples raise gay children? hm?

Homosexuality is actually a necessary if we're going to talk about the Earth's population. We're consuming every resource we touch, destroying land, and popping out more and more children at younger ages. Our population is out of control is in need of a cutback so that we do not lose all.

lets backtrack for one second. i believe i called polygamy barbaric, and I never said that incest was sick. I dont agree with it, because in most MODERN cases it involves brainwashing and abuse.
There is not a whole lot of evidence to prove how we all got here at all, let alone that incest is to thank for it. Incest might have been "necessary" then, but now we know the medical ramifications of their reproduction.
I dont see why incest couples could not marry, if they did not have children.

first off all, public schools should not single out one religion to teach. if they were teaching all religions, that would be fine with me.
second, like texas, my state is working on getting the bible into public schools. like it or not, it looks like it will be a reality.

it IS a positive thing, and so is teaching tolerance.
you DONT have to attend pride parades, be a part of GSA, or put your kids in public schooling. its not "being forced down peoples throats" if you still have a choice in accepting homosexuality.
dont like it? homeschool your kids or put them into a religious-afiliated school, turn off your tv, and move to the south.
otherwise, get over it because you do have options and stop trying to take away tolerance, biggot :)

Could you get an intelligent argument? Those things have nothing in common. Prove how they are incommon, WITHOUT using the bible. You can't just point to something and say "oh thats wrong" without any knowledge of their condition or any proof of your statement and expect people to do what you say.
Homosexaulity is normal. Homosexuality is genetic, and exists in thousands of animal species. It is not a choice.

My children will be raised to know that all people are equal, and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
I don't appreciate people teaching the younger generations that certain people are superior. That is not how we move forward from the hatred that taints Americas past and present.

and what is "decent" is subject to change. it used to be indecent for women to show their ankles. it used to be indecent for men and women to be anything other than what their gender roles said they should be. it used to be indecent to be in love with someone of a different race.
"decent" does not mean just or moral. it's a very strict, conservative (not the party) view that is held by most of society.
people are afraid of things they dont know, but that's not a license to stop equality.

about 10 months ago, I wrote a comment about everyone trying to love each other in this world, and get along with each other. I wrote that children should be taught about homosexuality in order to create tolerance and acceptance. It saddened me today to come on and see that 6 people had given my comment a thumbs down.

Homosexuality is very real, whether it is sinful or not. Children have to learn how to accept their homosexual classmates or classmates with same-sex parents. If they don't learn how will they get along with each other at school? How will they get along with each other as a society when they grow up?
