  • Congrats on the new family members!!

    : D»

You should be able to see the castings easy against the redness of the coco peat...

If you ever need a top up send us a PM & we can help you out...

    Have a great one....

  • @bnbob01 Thanks for that.. Shall keep you in mind.. although your Hawaiian shirt/thong wearing worms might not like the cold weather down here :) Yes the castings are MUCH easier to see now.

  • excellent !

  • Good luck with the new farm, 5 liters of water sounds like a lot to add every week, But if that's what works. Any excess well drain off anyway.

  • @lifeinthailand Yeah that's what I thought.. I won't do it weekly as they suggest and I might only do half that amount first to see how much that ends up being.. I guess the coco peat will absorb a heap of it.. they said that the worms like 70% moisture and that the majority of the water drains through to make worm tea... they are the 'worm dudes'.. i guess they know what they are talking about.. :)

  • @Watsamadoing If the worms are not happy they well try to get out, A good sign something is not right.

  • Oh and put a piece of mellon or something in the bag of soil. the worms if ther are any left will move up to the food. Along with any hatching baby worms from any eggs.

  • @Allen2045 They seem to like it just fine.. and I can SEE the castings now.. can tell the difference between the coco peat and the castings. Good idea on the melon in the bag...

  • Great job harvesting the worms from the bag Karen. They will love there new home. If the Worm Farm is like the Worm Factory they will do just fine. Easy to harvest the worm castings as the worms move up to the next tray. For Christmas as you other half to buy you extra trays. :-)

  • You do realize that most women would not be thrilled with a hardware store gift certificate for their birthday and if they were they likely wouldn't buy worms with it. LOL Real heat wave here today 22 degrees !!

  • @dalecalder2003 LOL - wow... 22! We almost cracked that here yesterday in the middle of winter (strangely warm these past couple of days) Yes, i'm not your average female.. I love getting my hands dirty and either pulling things apart to see how they work or putting them together. I have to keep my brain busy, so have to have multiple jobs on the go at once. Chris is the 'housekeeper' and i'm happy with that :) Worms over handbags and shoes any day! lol
