LOL when your dog barks! :) I agree with your beliefs regarding ARA's. I think, when you find out a bit more about who I am as a person, we would get along quite well! I do not agree with most AR issues and their tactics. They mostly serve to gain $ and their tactics do not help to further their cause. Especially when they promote negative stereotypes instead of agreeable solutions.
i really wish more people would have believed or went by this point of view your'e presenting here ... me ... i just wish one day i'll have enough money to just run away and have my own house near some lake or whatever ... far from all the bullshit lol ... just live far and paint and make music and read books ... travel ... but that's only a dream
Hello again Williams, Dreams do and can come true! I didn't know this was my dream until I started living it. Now I really don't think I could live any other way. I wish more people would be opened minded toward this lifestyle. It has been a truly positive experience that has helped me grow, and understand the world around me whereas city life for me was too restricted, I didn't have the air to breathe. I really hope you too can live the life you wish for.
I first got into vegetarian foods because I was bored and wanted to try new things. The low fat aspect was a plus but i've never felt guilty for eating meat.
I mostly went out for the occasional meal at a local vegetarian restaurant and haven't really been satisfied with the veggie foods available at the grocery story until just recently, when President's Choice started carrying some.
(cont) So i've been substituting some of my meat in my stir fries with extra firm tofu for a while now and it's quite good.
And I love those Harvey's veggie burgers and PC Meatless burgers. But both are 31% of my daily sodium per burger and there was some scientific evidence that tofu causes brain shrinkage, so it's only part of my diet.
The KFC veggie sandwich is good but it contains the same sodium and fat content as a regular chicken burger because it's battered and fried the same way.
Canuck, I have to admit, I haven't cut back as much as I would like since the first time I said it. Starting to sound like a broken record!! Thanks for the tip about tofu and other products. I'm heading into town in a couple days, I'm going to check out the Dominion's there and pick up a few things that I can't get here.
Dominion ! Now that brings back memories. Used to go to one when I was a kid in NB, until it burned down. They're all supposed to be converted to Metro soon here (A&P, Dominion, Loeb).
I just looked at the LOEB flyer and ran into these Veggie bacon patties. Sounds good but i'd probably eat too much of it. :)
I love Dominions although it's a bit expensive. PC Classic spinach dip!!! Mmmm :) It reminds me of a store I shopped at back home (Zehrs). I suppose even though they are veggie it's still necessary to watch how much is consumed. I have managed to switch to soy milk and rather enjoy it although it has an after taste and a texture I can't quite describe, especially when I use it in my tea. I really wish they would make veggie chocolate, or maybe they do?!?! Really could've used it over Xmas!
I wasn't aware that there was such things as almond and rice milk - soy being the only other option found locally. I'll have to look for them and bring a cooler for the trip home!
SeanHd00d, this is not a question for me to answer. I believe you need to look within yourself to determine what you need and do not need and live your life accordingly while also considering the world around you. Take care.

@foxshots I'm sure we would get along too. You nailed it with agreeable solutions. That should have always been the focus.

I like soy milk but I prefer 2% milk and almond milk. Rice milk is also good but way to watery for cereal for me.
A milkshake with almond milk and vanilla ice creme is heavenly.
I make my own green tea iced tea with lemon and stevia. Quite refreshing.

Yeah. Look for Almond Breeze which is made by Blue Diamond. It's available sweetened or unsweetened, flavored or unflavored.
My favorite is the vanilla, unsweetened or sweetened. It's got some vitamin A, D, E and calcium in it.
There are also recipes online, including many here on Youtube. I haven't tried any of them yet but they all sound delicious.
