I definitley shall, but we're still in the rehearsal process. It is such a fun show! And yeah, Edmund is the most difficult, but probably the most fun! =]
The costume was a third rendition, you should have seen the first one..it was a full body one peice lion suit it was like pajamas. This was a mock up of what we had to put together with what we had in our costume studio, its not an easy thing to costume in a community theatre. The white witch had amazing character development...watch the other videos. She plays very well an entity of evil and acts like she is in control.
I'd have to agree with heylookitsaliza. The costume was no good. And don't use community theatre as an excuse. I did this show with a community theatre as Peter, and blaming it on that is just mean to community theatre. Community theatre can be great it done correctly.
Um community theatre is a great excuse. As not all community theatres are well off. Just because there is talent in the show doesn't mean that their is funding for elaborate costumes or even the capacity to find a great designer for costumes. Not every community theatre is the same pal.
well about the group quote if u think about it in a theater way its good the other Narnia creatures just watched and sang cause the song and scene is witch and Asian s and in another way to me the others would just watch cause the bosses are dealing with each other
well i thought you guys did very good. but the ensemble could have had more emotion they were just standing There singing. what's up with the girl fenris isn't supposed to be a guy? Great job though!!
Alright, I don't see how brandishing her power in a different way rather than stoicism is evoking her supposed stupidity. Rock opera diva? Listen, she's putting overwhelming emotion into the part, she's being seductive and enchanting if you will. It doesn't seem like she could get the point across that the ball is in her court by just standing there all statuesque. She indeed has a lot more courage since she is aware someone has to die, it's all in her power and Aslan knows that.
right, but in the book she is so afraid of him she can't look him in the eye's. she doesn't become stupid by pushing him around. she knows what she can do with her power and she is calm an collected about it. she's not some rock opera diva.
ya but uh...this isn't the book, this is Narnia..THE musical. And as actors we have flexibilty to enhance the story with our acting abilities and perception of the characters. I'm sorry the witch isn't the one you saw in the book!
@rokannis Not a good enough answer. Why would the creators of the musical be so direspectful to Aslan and his author as to portray him as the sort to BE pushed around?
well, the witch doesn't push aslan around for one and aslan wouldn't let anyone push him around. she's too afraid of him.and it's just and mabye it's just when we did it we had like 67 kid's in our cast so it was just diferent. I don't mean to be mean, you guys have good voices, this version is just wierd to me.
Yes, the witch is afraid of Aslan but she's going to try with her entire soul to mask that fright and make it so she's all powerful. I don't think we'd want to see a wimpy queen walking around the stage. I wouldn't at least. I think it's a very different portrayal than what we're used to. You should've seen the whole play. They witch has a plethora of emotions including fear in the presence of Aslan. :] Thanks for the critique.
It is indeed played a bit differently from what you may be "used" to. But in fact, the story aka the books are written as a battle of Good VS. Evil. Aslan the symbol of all good and the witch as the symbol of all evil. This moment in the show the witch and aslan are having a power struggle as we see with their circling and their stand off of pushing back and forth. The witch knows she has control over the situation with Edmund's betrayal which makes her confidence in front of Aslan greater.
Where are Tilda Swinton and Liam Neeson when you need them? Mmm!

Holy shoodles! I am jealous of the witch's range. I can make that note, but boy, I can't hold it as long as she can!
I'm the witch in the play version, and now that I've heard there's a musical, I can't say I'm not a little jealous. Lol.
Great job, and thanks for the clip!
