To Trevorsgrl15,yes it does. According to my "Young People's Atlas of The United States", Washington D.C. is in the South b/c it's located between Maryland and Virginia.

actually that's going to depend on your definition of the south. in terms of the "Mason/Dixon line", no it's not the south. and technically it was never a state, so it can't be considered a southern state. also just b/c it's between Maryland and Virginia doesn't make it southern.
