I love my CBR1100XX, and thanks for the mention, but in reality, it hasn't been the fasted in the world since 1998, when the Ninja ZX12R, and the GSX-R1300 were launched. Since then the ZX14R, and the 2nd Generation GSX-R1300 are also faster, and the MV Agusta F4 312RR currently takes the top slate at 194mph. And I believe it was launched in 2007, but if I'm wrong, there are still plenty of faster bikes than the Honda

Also, anybody can say anything about what the top speed of their machine is, but has it been tested? Y2K claim something around 300 mph for their jet bike, but as far as I know, nobody has had one over about 240. Turbo hyabusas are regularly pulling 250 ~ 255.
