  • Dee Murray going off!

  • that was beyond cool....

  • most of his stuff is shit to me,

but sometimes this man show how much hesrt and balls he have(had?)

    this is one song

  • One of my favorites. Tumbleweed Connection was very underrated, it was an amazing album. As were many of Elton's albums.

  • One of the best ej songs.....I think EJ was at his best when he toured with his early three-piece-band. I'd love it if he decided to do a tour with just he, a bassist, and his drummer.

  • Elton could really sing back then. I think his piano playing is much more ambitious today, but his voice is miles away from what it was like back in 1970!

  • Not only awesome, but easily the greatest song he has ever performed, for my money.

  • This is a truly awesome, wonderful, amazing song. Elton is superb!

  • I think this has got to be Elton's most underrated song.

  • haha a new album..back in the day when this album was new :D i lovee this song/

  • memories.....thanks Elton..they're almost as great as this song.....

  • DOG DAY AFTERNOON !!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song, and performance, fantastic! :-).

  • I'm totally into metal, but one of my friends got me into EJ years agao. I'm glad he did:-)

  • @meagainok what's so weird about liking metal and other genres at the same time?

  • You can hear the influence of his idol, Laura Nyro, in this. One of my favorites of his. Great song! Thanks for the post!

  • Wonderful post!! One of my all-time favorite songs (not just EJ songs) since I first heard it as part of the opening to Al Pacino's movie Dog Day Afternoon. Miss the Hammond B3 organ but I bet this was amazing to hear live with just the original trio. Dee and Nigel were probably the most underrated rhythm section in rock history, but were also so tight and so musical - adjusting their styles to fit the songs and the production of those songs. Just wonderful!

  • Great tune, thanks for sharing!
