Did Queen ever played this song live?

  • @ithilwenstargazer

    No, they did not

  • One can only dream about having a voice like his.

  • this song was so touching when I listend to it the first time, that i named my band "path of Nevermore"...

Thank you freddie for your music!

  • i would just adore to hear this music done in a medieval style with those instruments or a harpsichord

  • Freddie was so amazing!!

  • Freddie.......you sang this directly from the depths of your soul.....and played with my heartstrings with every note! I am left with a feeling of total bliss! NEVERMORE will there be another Artist like our Beloved Freddie Mercury!

  • I wish the song was longer

  • 5 people should be sent to the path of Nevermore...

  • This song reminds me of something out of Lord of the Rings or Legend!

  • total legends of rock,Freddie at his best just listen to the lyrics pur an utter genuis

  • I very rarely sign in to make comments but this made me do so.

A brilliant song by the worlds late greatest showman.

Well done for uploading or is it downloading. Any how along with lily of The valley two of Fred's understated masterpieces...

  • I love seeing these fans with user names like nevermore, FreddieKingOfQueen, QueenLover.

Freddie will never die with fans like these.

  • simply stunning

  • voice of an angel>>

  • I love Nevermore such a wonderful and beautiful song.

  • Still love this tune....

    What a voice!!

I always love Deacons little bits to. I think he was very under-rated Deacon. His playing here, so delicate at times...fits the song beautifully .....

I love that effect at 0:39 to on the piano I believe?

Again beauty comes from having your heart ripped out.....dang being a human and having relationships....lol

  • This song goes straight to my heart. I can't think of anything more beautiful.

When Freddie was born, the earth had actually borrowed an angel for some time. He was summoned home way too soon.

  • this is an angelic song:)

  • sung by the voice of an angel!!! This has to be one of the most beautiful songs. What gorgeous pics of the best band ever, thanks a ton Dave!!! You have done it again =)

  • "No one can write songs like queen, absolute perfection"

  • Freddie had a too perfect voice for this kind of music and to make it a bit more rough, since 80s were approaching, they made him smoke a lot of cigs per day. That's something that happens very often to singers.

    God Save Queen ^^

  • Wow! a singer trying not too sing that well? A little hard to believe, but yes, Only Freddie could smoke that much and still keep an overkilling voice!

  • I can remember the Queen Fanclub newsletter somewhere in the 80's it had a letter from Fred in it....only a copy of his hand written note!!! In it he said something like;

'I have taken up a bad habit -smoking- everyone says it will change my voice-a load of bull!!'

    lol

I sure he said something about all the people round him were smoking at the time...strange after all those years to start....

I know there was an interview where he said he smoked to give him a raspier edge on hard stuff....

  • godswhip2007......Wow, are you serious? I read that before, but could never substantiate it. Can you tell me where you got that?

What an incredibly gorgeous voice! Can you imagine what it would be without those nasty things?

One of the most gorgeous songs ever!!!

    FREDDIE----->>>>MAGIC!!!!!

  • Just a note printed in the fanclub mag. I don't think I got it anymore, maybe someone out there has?

The band took turns writing a note, one per edition. I remember Fred's because I was surprised he smoked, with that voice.

But he did say most people around him smoked, maybe it became a social thing? The letter was very early 80'sI, maybe '82?

I have felt his voice was purer in the early albums but his rock voice improved later. It does make you wonder what if he didn't smoke at all?

  • Just to add.

It is strange because not until that documentary video in '86(?) did I know Deacon smoked. So when you think of it they all smoked ACCEPT Brian...who detests smoking!!! I often wonder how he got on with the smell and stink lol

I know smoking killed his Dad (and my Mum :( ) so he got a be in his bonnet about it. I know during the Q+PR tour they had every venue no-smoking too.

I can never understand intelligent people smoking, why did Fred? !! lol

  • He Should have a bee in his bonnet then! (Sorry about your Mum, btw). I guess poor Brian was used to the stench if he grew up with it.That's how most people become smokers, learning it & getting addicted to it fr. their parents.

They try to outlaw it in cars w/ kids....Finally! Realizing the kids are "smoking" too...Needing to, you know, Breathe!

I heard that Freddie did it to lower his voice....?

How do you know about the "no-smoking" venue? That's great! I wish Nobody smoked! Hate it!!

  • I know what you mean. Both my parents used to smoke and heavy too. Dad gave up for health reasons.

I have found it strange that with all that smoke around that none of their children smoked!!! None of my friends have ever smoked and one ex used to...years before they knew me!!

I agree it is a detestable, unnecessary habit for weak willed people :) I have had work colleagues in the past who think they are going outside for a ciggie..like no one could smell it when they return!!

  • The none smoking venues? Well on the Q+PR tour they made all (as far as I remember) venues none-smoking, they said to preserve Paul Rodgers voice. I was glad :) I saw three of those gigs and believe it or not at one AFTER it announced no smoking one of the security guys took away some guys beer and his ciggies. He was only about half an hour into the gig and he had to light up!!! You could smell it all over the place!! Nicotine slaves! LOL

If it was just discovered today it would never be legal

  • Ya, that's a joke, huh? If they only knew how the stench follows them! Their clothes, skin, hair, & pores....REEK!!!...from afar!!! GROSS!!!

LOL @ "preserving" Paul Rodgers' voice! I'm afraid that's a tall order, no?!

Kudos to you for not becoming a nicotine slave, too! Thank God!!!

  • I dont think angels can sing better!

One of my favourite songs a after

    Love of my life.

  • Just when I think that I can't possibly love Queen any more than I already do, there comes another David Fuller video to prove me wrong. Long Live Queen! I love you to death!

  • Fantastic song..

  • yeah, folks, what about "You take my breath away,","One year of love","death on two legs","Doing all right","Spread your wings",It's late","Millionaire waltz" and sooooo many more? These are treasures.

    Queen invented music :)))))

  • I bet when God speaks he sounds like Freddie Mercury

  • a beautiful pearl...

  • ecco xche' ti amo ..

  • one of the most beautiful, sensible, touching and short songs ever created.

  • I'm finally able to play this on the piano. But i've seen versions with a longer intro. Which one is correct?

  • Fantastic

  • ....solo due parole.....CHE VOCE....

  • when angels sings, they do it like this...

  • One of the masterpieces from Queen !

Hard to believe this song is 35 years old

Its from the album QeenII 1974

It still is one of my favs

I met Freddie in 1976 in Holland, after a concert in Leiden XD

  • snuffelbaarsje.....You MET FREDDIE!!!??? Oh my God!!! I think I love you!

MetalDragon42....You're so right about the lesser known Queen songs. There are SO many unbelievably beautiful ones that no one's ever heard of, and it's such a shame!

What about Lily Of The Valley, Man On The Prowl, Las Palabras De Amor, Don't Try Suicide, All Dead All Dead, '39, Fairy Feller's Masterstroke, and so many others?

    QUEEN ROCKSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • I thin exactly the same...I know all those songs after buying the CD ... what do you say about "all gods peple, i cant live with you, funny how love is, misfire, seaside rodevouz, lazing on a saturday after noon , etc" they are so many... Queen would have need at least 50 more years to show all the potencial they have and it wouldnt have last!

    God save the Queen

and the real one no the imitations!

  • javiera.....I love all the ones you mentioned too. That's the difference between Queen and every other band. They don't have 10 or 20 great songs, they have TONS!!!

At least @80-100 really great ones! Some are down below(v). What about Mad The Swine, It's A Hard Life, Teo Torriatte, My Fairy King, and so many more?

    They're just the BEST BAND - EVER - !!!!

FREDDIE - THE GOD OF ROCK - !!!!!!

  • IMO Queen I&II are two of there Best Albums they made, Yes ANATO was the Biggest selling and if you ask the avg Queen Bo-Rap fan they prob never heard of Nevermore or Grate King Rat, Liar, March of the Black Queen, Father to Son or the many more Moving Songs from them first 2 Albums... Mmk First 3 ;)

    RIP Freddie we miss ya..

  • avg Queen fan doesn't exist, you are a fan or not, you cant be an agv fan, maybe you mean, the avg music lover

even an avg Queen fan knows about any album ;-)

    peace dude

from a Queen fan and lover :D

  • I'm Talking about the ones who only Know BoRap or We Will Rock you/We are the Champions that they only hear at there local sorts venue ;)

  • One of the most unknown and beautiful Queen's songs

  • for the big public it is an unknown song,

but for the true fan, its a song we already enjoy >3 decades ;-)

    hi from Holland

  • Great video! + This song is beautiful, thank you for posting.

  • what's that music vid at 1:20?

  • we won't see you nevermore :-(

  • You're wrong, my friend! Nothing disapears!

  • sublime

  • If heaven has a soundtrack -

    this is the main theme.

  • Nevermore just doesn't get the due that it should. It's a minute and 20 of the best vocals I have ever heard in a Queen song.

  • Roxxxxxx.....Absolutely right! Nevermore is one of the most beautiful little songs - ever.

Try Lily Of The Valley....another great song!

FREDDIE - THE GOD OF ROCK - !!!!!!!

  • @AmyLilies Awesome :D Freddie Lives in our hearts.!

  • @remg1997 Made me crie

  • Beautiful - One of his many masterpieces :)

  • Freddie was an excellent piano player and what made him great was that he couldn't really read music! I think that would make it easier if you could just play by ear, what sounds good comes out you don't have to mess with the technical crap of chords and keys.

  • excellent.

  • awesome *.*

  • simple beautifullllllllllllll

  • oh my god i love this song.

  • 1.22 the best of the history of music

  • the song after this is great too march of the black queen

  • WOW.. just magnificent. Great clips of Freddie... they show him at his most beautiful, in my opinion, and are just wonderful. The song is one of my favorites, it's just TOO beautiful for words....

  • why'd u have to leave?!

    miss u freddie!

  • I don't understand, how is this music so unknown

  • I don't either, but I have a feeling it's because most people don't care about the truly beautiful and artistic music anymore. They only care about the 2:30 or 3:00 minute single now. People have no idea what they are missing!

  • I wish this song lasted more time than 1:22 because it's so pretty...

  • Oh i know! Everytime I hear it I am dissapointed whe it's over even though i KNOW its short,

well, thats wishful thinking for you

  • ah love it just so so beautiful

  • i just about cried when i first heard this song

  • Happy birthday Freddie ....

    thanks for this great song..

  • this is actually my favourite song!love queen!freddie mercury was fabulous in his every performance!miss u , freddie!

  • Lovely...and rest well Freddie.

  • R.I.P. FREDDIE!!!!!

  • nice

  • Yup, I'd say Grade 4 is pretty untrained. I am grade 4 myself, in both piano and keyboard. And trust me, I can't play alot of things xD

Mind you, emotional songs like this always seem to go well for me when I play them ^__^

  • One of the most beautiful songs Freddie has ever written! I love this song. It means many things, which I truly love about the song. Freddie Mercury's voice is so beautiful, I could just cry.

    RIP Freddie Mecury!

  • Very beatutiful song!

When I was a kid, my mom used to play this for me as a Lullaby.

And we played this at my brothers funeral last year to..

Amazing song, almost makes me cry everytime I listen to it.

RIP Freddie, I hope you´ve met my brother somewere up there..

    (sorry about my bad englisch)

  • I remember when i was a 4-years old kid and stood on livingroom carpet. Mom putted radio on and this song started. Now i just close my eyes and I can imagine that moment again...Thank you Queen. For these many memories you have been in.

(sorry for bad english, im from Finland)

  • Dave....you have awesome taste in Queen's music!!! Keep up the great work!!!!

  • Great job Dave putting this video together. As a fellow editor, video producer & Queen fan I can really appreciate the work you put into this piece. Nevermore is one of my favorite Queen II songs. Thanks for creating and sharing this video. Again, it's fantastic work.

  • vive freddie,ils nous manque

  • The most beautiful song that I ever heard!

  • The thing about Freddie Mercury is he puts so much passion into singing his songs. And he says that he loves the songs that John Deacon wrote because he is a "true romantic" and loves singing songs about that. I think that's why he was so amzing. He sings about things he knows. Not music like today... APPLE BOTTOM JEANS BOOTS WITH THE FUR... stupid! haha

  • this is the first song i could play (entirly) on my piano... one of the best songs ever

  • I've always found Freddy's piano sort of tough, he was untrained...GOOD...but untrained so his style is so personal that it's tough to emulate...

  • He wasn't untrained...

    He had a grade 4 :D

Oops, this is an awful while after your comment, sorry and all

  • Grade 4? :P like I said, pretty much untrained... :) generally anything less than a grade 6 is considered only "half trained" or something of the sort...don't get me wrong, the guy's great...he just had the chance to develop his own personal style.

  • I beieve many "untrained" artists as you refer to them still create masterpieces...Maybe its all the "training" that you incredibly trained musicians are proud of that boggs you down so ones only artistic contribution to the arts and humanity are these comments on youtube...cheers all!

  • It can depend...my guitar teacher used to say "You know, it's strange, you spend years of training learning the rules of music and it's so that you can break those rules effectively."...classical training is amazingly good, the problem is that many trained people (my ex for example is a classically trained vocalist while I'm a semi-trained guitarist) tend to be TOO bogged down in the rules, they lose the capacity to explore for fear of breaking rules that are really just guidelines to begin with

  • the same as Keep to the Code- like in Pirates of the Carribean?? I always liked the use of guidelines rather than rules and the classical background shows in Freddie's use of his vocals and piano-- wish I could ask someone to hear a "simple little song" like HE did

  • its like them pianists u see on tv at them really sad tv shows where they compete by playing allready famous songs like very classical music but why cnt they go off and write some new shit if there "that" good lol. freddie is a true example. i mean come on.... bohemian rhapsody who could write such a damn masterpiece. i mean it has 3 parts fgs lol best song ever

  • this is a very sensitive song, write by a sensitive man,one freddie mercury!i just love this song.

  • i love this song

  • your video is beautiful.. thank you

  • Dave, you continually impress me with your work; the lyrics to this song are extraordinary and the photos you've chosen make the video so perfect; I put it on my "Pure Freddie" playlist. Thank you Dave, once again, for your dedication & hard work.

  • Great song!Thanks!

  • Me too i like this piece,hello Yvonne ;-p

  • I think that everthing is Ok?kisses!
