ok ok, I appreciate your sincerity man, it gives me hope. That means I got too know some scales also, right ??? What I like so much about your video is that your moving all over the neck , brilliant !!! Im learning some major scales at the moment so hopefully I can pretty soon jam with your music in the background.
Yeah, I try to move around the neck a lot and follow melodies without staying in "boxes". Guitarists tend to keep playing in the same "boxes" - positions on the neck. I use pentatonics with very few cromatics inbetween (I wasn't going for a jazzy feel but chose a more soulful, melodic approach). Work on connecting phrases, working them out in different positions, shifting them up and down octaves. Make sure you know the pentatonic scale, it's the most common and effective starting point.
The best advice I can give you is: play with your ear. Practice tone and a half, full tone and half tone string bends, listen to how different intervals within the scale sound over chords in the progression and pick up as many phrases from players you like to listen to as possible. Work on things many players neglect: phrasing (how you put notes together, when to play and when to pause; it's similar to singing or speaking), dynamics and most importantly - sliding & vibrato = feeling the strings.
All right ! The A minor pentatotic was my first scale I had to learn from my teacher so , that sounds familiar. I will practise to connect them together, then I will put some uploads on you tube for you to check them out. Thx for the advice man, If you have more videos like this one , let me know, very useful for practise on.
