masking every keyframe is very hard just use a white wall or a grenscreen it is much better :) use your wall or something i do like that, iit works fine

That's rather good. If your not too worried about a rough sortof effect I suppose you can use a rectangular or elipse mask instead of keying. Just feather it. I hadn't thought of using a layer displacement map which is just stupid on my part since I've used a fractal noise layer and messed with it to produce a ripple effect using displacement map. Thanks, you kinda opened my mind to a couple more possibilities.

You mean "Save frame as"? At 1:48? That is just making a .psd file of the current frame, you can choose the options of where to save it and how to save it to the left of the render window. Once you know where your saving it, click render and go to the file in "My computer" and drag it into After Effects as an image file

yo lol yeh thanks 2 min after i posted the comment i figgured it out.the whole thing didnt work because i recordin on webcam because my vid cam, was out of battery and all the effects didnt work but as soon as the batteries are charged ill try again.btw good tutorial=D

what do you do if you don't have displacement map????? cos you have loads more distort effects than me.

Displacement map comes with After Effects, if you don't have it, re-install after effects

I got stuck. Something's wrong with LumaKey. I set treshold at 1 as you said but it didn't work. Do you know what could be wrong ?

A number of things could have happened - The most common would be not using a pre-composed layer. You could just not be seeing it correctly - try changing the transparent mode (From background to checkered) Try to follow my tutorial exactly, if it's none of these, then reply and tell me exactly what's going wrong =)

Hmm :( Did you follow the tutorial exactly? Sometimes this effect only works when the footage is noise-free and if there are not many shadows.

I imagine it's just a mask of a hole attached to a hand that subtracts that layer and shows the layer underneath, which is a picture of the background. Hope this helped,
