its already male or female from the get go...light has nothing more to do with the plant other than to aid it in photosynthesis....if u live above the equator its best to keep it on a southern facing window.....give the plant 12 hours of unitnterupted darkness to induce flowering..if its a male balls will appear within three week for sure...male weed also gets u high though so if its all you got....id say keep it and smoke it...

If it is any help now, take it off the sil and put it in a lightless place for 12 hours everyday and bring it back out to the sun for 12 hours....but you have to do this on a strict basis and keep to say 12pm--12am each day or better 8am--8pm you need to make the plant think the days are getting shorter as in the fall.. hope that helps
