  • For me its ElecShield. well, i lately got AquaShield, Epic fail.

  • My personal favorite style is WoodCust. With Grass Stage and extra chips, it works quite well.

  • best style ever :D

i used this all the time with lava stage, and laughed at the poor souls burning in my traps :D

  • They are the best at running away... yet they broadcast their intended destination....

  • I tried to fight those three spikeys with Woodguts style.

    DAMN YOU SPIKEYS

  • oh henchmen incompatence. lol

  • you could buy candy at yoka metro to get the number codes with out cheating one of them is a wep plus 1

  • I always prayed for wood style for the wood regen on set green with undershirt combo giving you the next best thing than invincibility, i know it's kinda cheap but i went out of my way to get shield style because i think it looks so badass and when it came to the more spastic or harder boss fights i had a bad time dodging, actually i usually tried to dodge and jumped in front of their attack

  • @TheLazyDragoon the one prob with wood on grass is the 4x damage from fire i always got wood style and a sand stage chip to make the charge shot better

  • Roahm, would you ever take a look at BN4.5?

  • @xa30standard99 I'll probably do one video to show what it's like, but not a full LP.

  • You have this way of making people want to play games you play. BN2 angered me at some points, IE some bosses just werent fun at all... but you're making me itch.

  • @ChoosenOneStudios battle network got really good with 3, 4 is either a hit or a miss but whether you liked it or not it brought a lot of better changes, if your itching to play battle network play 3, 5 and 6, theyre much better than 1,2 and 4

  • @TheLazyDragoon Honestly, I think 5 is the most hit-and-miss title out of all of them, mainly because of the liberation missions. It's the only one I haven't beaten.

  • @Lpoeser yeah they were pretty awkward but i liked them, i was basing the fact of 4 being more hit and miss on the fact it sold the best in the series but is largely considered the worst, but i liked that one too, i loved all these games

  • Either your missing cannon F or, you have the advance for the cannon now

  • (Dad interrupts his vacation to...not save Mayl.)

*Heat*Shadow? But you haven't even used any Fire element chips in this play through, have you? You've used everything but Fire IIRC. Regardless, it's both kinda hilarious that you got that during the Aqua scenario & right after seeing LavaStage.

Beyond that, I'm surprised that the Bubble Brigade both exists & is kinda amusing. Still, it's kinda odd realizing even mook/non-Navi viruses can talk & have a personality given how many you delete.

  • @MusicoftheDamned I think it's a preset thing. Your element is tied to a cycle, rather than a favoured attack type. I would always without fail start with an aqua style in White version (haven't played blue).

A few years back I'd have been able to tell you what the cycle I found was, but I can't remember that anymore.

  • @Hothit05 the element has a % of likely hood based on your style like fire shadow is more likely then wood shadow there is also a randomize in the code

  • @NezumiTheMouse Is that so? Well, that would explain why people think Ground style sucks. Because the most likely element for that is elec, its worst inherent element (zap ring that cracks panels and removes ice stage with the buster), yes?

Evidence? Heat shadow and Elec ground are the elements/styles in official artwork. :D

  • Roahm are u gonna show ground style in the next part because shadow is blue exclusive and ground is white.

  • @GamingForAllAges If I get Ground style in my White playthrough, I'll show it.

  • cool

  • My fav style is Elec guts max out ur buster paralyze the victim to the square closest to u and fire away 10 points per shot machine buster

  • Basically in order of most useful styles in the game:

    Custom (any element)

    Team (any element)

    Shield (any element)

    Guts (any element)

Ground (heat, this gives you a flamethrower that breaks panels!)

Shadow (element doesn't matter--no charge attack)

  • @SagaciousSilence Shield is above Team, Shield has the same color as Custom for the NaviCust(Blue)

  • @Altadorian1 Team is needed however to get certain chips in battle, the V4 chips from Navis.

  • @SagaciousSilence Really, it's all opinion. Shadow tends to be my favorite style, and it produces some useful programs.

  • I first played MMBN3 White version and I LOVED Heat Ground style. Just power up your charge attack and you get a Flamethrower that cracks panels that does 100 damage. SO AMAZING! I'm madly in love with Heat Ground style... it sort of describes my love for this game.

  • How do you move Metalman? I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing works.

  • @Lukaz2009 He mentioned it when he first got him, but When you select Metalman, Hold down the attack button, and then move him, You have little time, but still.

  • Or do other forms even do anything special?

  • Yay! You and I both got what we wanted! I got WoodTeam( fav element plus fav style) an you got HeatShadow!

Also, I have a question about your accent. Do all dragons have the accent, or is your accent form your nationality?

  • @MrDragoniteTrainer I love Wood because of the healing effects.

  • @MrDragoniteTrainer I was raised in my formative years by elder Scottish relatives.

  • Roahm, at the end of the Lets Play could you show all of the styles(not really elemental just the general styles, like shadow, the one with the shield, etc.) and their charged shots.

  • @JeffGC64 I'm not going to be doing any extras for the series, just playing through the full game. I'm sure others will however, they did for BN2.

  • Hey Roahm how do you work towards a heat style? I don't remember you using to many fire chips, I thought you would get elec because of flashman.

  • @UnAmericancookie The element you get is random.

  • Don't worry. I always turn around on those mini paths after a battle without knowing.

  • It's always a joy to see a video from you when I get on Youtube. Thanks.

  • "When the shadow strikes, only bugfrags remain!"

I see what you did there...

  • I got Elec custom in my White playthrough. Elec is easily the worst element you can get.

  • @ChrisJandB Elec is good defensively, as there are few wood viruses outside of the Hospital network. The funny thing about what you said is that among competitive MMBN battlers (yes, there is a community that plays this game competitively) they consider Elec Custom style to be THE best style in the game.

  • @SagaciousSilence haha really? I find that funny. I hate using elec style because I don't get a panel advantage. My favorite is heat with a lava panel combo.

  • Hm i disagree with shadow sytle first you should get at least bug stop and custom +1 yellow

  • @qwule To each their own ;) I personally dislike using BugStyle.

  • If you cut out all the random encounters and backtrackings, you probably would've burst BubbleMan's bubbles in this video!

  • @DullBones And I would have had a really dull video. Just walking through the internet with nothing to do there, what's the point? It's like people who complain about the battles in the game itself and use cheat codes to turn them off, seems pretty boring to me. The random battles and backtracking are just part of the game, and so I show them. If you don't like it, that's your perogative, but I'm not going to change the way I do things.

  • I remember while did a run for bug style

    Oh what fun that was

  • there's a metaur 4 in this game?

  • Actually it's called Mettaur Ω.

  • Is it scripted to get a style change at that moment?

  • @Flygonius yeah it is

  • "insert Naruto joke here"

  • Heat Shield style was always my favorite. Makes Bass and all of his forms ridiculously easy.

  • You have a Heat Style?

Go back and get that LavaStage from the BugFrag trader, I command you. It is *soooooo broken* if you use it correctly. Er... at all, in HeatShadow/HeatShield/HeatX...

I got HeatShield in a playthrough of White that I need to pick back up (accursed Yort Omega...) and I have been abusing it to no end.

...um... if that's okay with you... /fs

  • Wow that happens to me all the time lol!

Going the wrong way after a battle while shrunk

  • I prefer Grass shadow.....that tornado puts in woooork.

  • @trentdude1 You don't get to use your charge attack no matter what style you get; it's always Invis charge.

  • @SagaciousSilence Unless you install Weapon Lv +1.

  • I'm REALLY not surprised by the Style he got. He uses Invis every turn! It's my least favorite style, but knowing Roahm, I'm sure he can find a great use for it.

My favorite Styles are any Shield Styles. It's a Barrier that's always up when you start a battle. My favorite type, however, changes constantly between Fire and Aqua. Aqua's charged shot goes a panel back where ever it hits, but Fire's charged shot always goes 3 panels horizontally. It also takes a while to reach farther panels.

  • My favorites are Wood Shield and Wood Guts. If I had to pick one though, it'd be Wood Shield. I like the Wood styles because they have a good charge shot, and because you can basically become invincible with an undershirt program, and a grass stage chip...just as long as your enemy can't break panels, at least.

  • Personally, I'm finding Aqua Ground style a lot more useful.

  • It figures that Yai of all people would have a useful 'short' cut.

  • out of curiosity lord Roahm, why is shadow style your favorite? aside from visual appeal because it is rather stylish.

  • @Wanderingsage7 NINJA!!!

  • @Wanderingsage7 A brief moment of invisibility whenever I want it is quite handy, plus it generates some useful programs, such as AntiDamage and FloatShoes.

  • @RoahmMythril "'Cause I'm... A NINJA! Here's a smoke bomb!"

  • did battle network five have style change if so i missed something when i played it...

  • @Blom9999 they removed it in 4, 4.5, 5 and 6.

  • @SighNapse1 thank you, i was worried actually missed something you weren't supposed to miss

  • Lets see what off topic things I can see today...

Uh... Yai's backround, the ducks. The last one in the line has a head that can rotate 360 degrees, think about that?

The official Heat Shadow art looks like (dare I say it?) The fully upgraded X from X8... Except red. X8 was definately better than recent abonomalities (X7, 8) but, not as bright, vibrant, and colorful as the original NES ones

  • I saw your intro picture and all I thought was "oh.... mettaurs... hi!"

Just the sheer number... gives you nightmares if you were attacked by all of them

  • @letsplayerwannabe Awww, but Mettaurs are adorable. They come in even more colors in BN4!

  • @RoahmMythril o.o

  • Ah, Shadow style... The vastly inferior counterpart to Ground style. I say this mainly because my battle tactics revolve around changing panels anyway, so I'd always end up with it eventually. SPICE SPAM!! :D

  • @Hothit05

Ground Style and Shadow Style are both pretty awful. Team and Custom are the only really good styles in the game. Bug can be kind of boss too since it has infinitely more positive bugs than negative and it gets you the most broken program in the game. I dont really understand the idea of going for Shadow Style, it basically ruins the most useful part of the style change: the elemental buster.

  • @ThePinkReaper Yeah, custom will always be a strong style, simply because it helps any and all tactics, also the custom codes of some chips are really useful. Brother allows some really crazy folders and is needed for V5 chips. Bug is hilarious and arguably the best. Guts is a crutch for the early game because the weaker a folder the more useful the buster is. Shield is alright, but not amazing. Shadow seems to be shield's weak version and Ground requires specific tactics, but has good programs.

  • @ThePinkReaper Shadow Style is just fun for me ;) I like having brief Invis whenever I want it, plus programs made from it are quite useful to me. To each their own, that's the fun thing about style changes ;)

  • @Hothit05 That's the thing, everyone has their own style, so what is useless to one person may be the best thing to someone else ;)

  • I was wondering what element you were gonna get! Blue is better simply because of this style. The only things I recall liking about ground style was Set Grass... and getting set holy took forever....

  • @Sypran Heat Ground style gives you a flamethrower that cracks 3 panels. Maximize your charge damage, and you can do 100 damage with your flamethrower and crack panels. It's actually a VERY amazing style.

  • @SagaciousSilence hmmm good point... sadly i got Elec Ground (I believe that is the worst one...)

  • @Sypran Yes, Heat Ground is the only good Ground style. But you're right, Blue version is the better version simply because of the best chip in the game:

FoldrBack. This chip does what the game mechanics should have always done: refreshes your folder so you can use chips already used.

  • @SagaciousSilence OH man I forgot about that chip! yeah that chip was amazing. I dunno whether to agree or not on if the mechanics should already do it. It depends on how it's implemented. I am not sure how or when the next chip to come in is chosen but I don't like the idea it could be the chip you just used to get rid of it. However if it was like a list and it went to the bottom then maybe... might be a game breaker though...

  • Roahm, why is it that the audio quality always changes after a refreshing pause?

  • @DefectiveStaple I haven't realized it does?

  • i always seem to get Guts type styles..

  • Saw the title and I went... YES!

Hoho, swift death for viruses now. Love the look of that style, and a perfect element choice too.

  • What are the requirements for upgrading HeatShadow Style?

  • @Arkhanno For shadow styles you have to use invis chips a lot. elements are random i think. i always got an elecshadow or woodcustom

  • @LeoSmashRoyale Elements are indeed random, to GET shadow styles you use invis chips, to upgrade styles you just battle as normal and after set intervals they level up. For those harping on Shadow and calling it a weaker shield, Shield can nullify incoming attacks while Shadow has a BUILT IN Anti-Damage if you use a button combination just before getting hit. Also, built in floatshoes I believe.

  • Blue certainly lucked out with getting the cooler style. Ground is... largely unimpressive by comparison.

  • I've never seen or used any of the shadow styles this should be intresting.

  • Keep up the amazing work Roahm!
