  • hey, vaasnaad! how can I get h.264 option in export>other?

i don't have it in the list.

    cheers

  • @iharhajster Oh, man, I'm so sorry for taking so long! Import to DV with Kino then use WinFF for easy drag and drop to other formats.

  • One thing. How do I use Kino to make good quality, low size videos. All the options I tried usually end up with the file registering as '0bytes' in the explorer program

  • @airconguy1 Best suggestion for you actually is don't use Kino... Render normally from there and then get WinFF - it's a GUI for FFMPEG. You can tweak it pretty much any way you want from there and render out a smaller file.

  • when I use kino it keeps crashing could you tell me why?

  • I'll give it a go. What distro and version are you running, what video card, how much RAM and do you get specific error messages on termination if you start it from a terminal (Just open up and type "kino" and you're good to go).

  • Thanks a lot for this! Answered all my questions and got me exporting. Thanks again for taking the time to make this.

  • Glad I was able to help! Can't wait to see the vids!

  • Do you use Kino to do all your YouTube Videos?

  • I use Kino to import all my video to my computer, but I use Cinelerra for all the editing. :-)

  • It's been a while since I used Kino. I've been using Cinelerra and KdenLive for a while now. I didn't know that Kino had matured so much in the last few years. I might download it and give it another try.

  • Kino is pretty good if it's a simple project because you don't have to worry with exporting it and messing with other programs. I LOVE Cinelerra, but I'm also itching to check out Jahshaka 3 when it finally comes out.

  • Glad you liked it! Yep, I used RecordMyDesktop. I've found you have to use 30fps to maintain audio sync. KDE4 comes with desktop effects built in, including zoom. The default is the "special" key and = to zoom in, so I just used that. Compiz Fusion in Gnome defaults to the "special" key and your mouse wheel... haven't found out how to set that particular combo in KDE yet, though. Of course, I could have done it post in Cinelerra, but the fewer manual edits, the better!

  • oh, that is so awesome! really, thanks. are you using record my desktop? how do you zoom in and out?
