Are both sides of the house like that? I think I would have investigated extending the eaves at the roof line or putting up a gutter system to channel rain away from those areas. You did a lot of nice work there! I would have thrown in the towel and had a contractor deal with it. It's refreshing that you have a good attitude and tackled the problem yourself. Well done.
