  • @Radamathill The word Slavic comes from Slaves. It goes all the way back to the Romans, a lot of their slaves were Eastern European. So somehow, he is right, yet, it is a bit far fetched to call this piece 'dance of the Slaves' for Dvorák refers to the Eastern European people called Slavic, not 'slaves'.

  • But this is not Antonin Dvořak, my friend! :) This is Johannes Brahms - Ungarisher tanz No. 5. Antonin Dvořak was from Prag and Brahms was from Vienna. Yes it is in Europe, but different countries with different culture and nature! ;) Plesa change it!

  • Just came back to this after so many months and I see that some people think I was degrading eternalflames911 friends. I was in no way meaning to degrade anyone--I just think that some people are on a different emotional/intellectual level than others, but we are all human (well, some skate dangerously close to being some kind of primordial ooze, but that's another story, LOL).

  • I love this furiant beat: 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 - like Dvorak's 6th symphony 3rd movement.

  • How come, even though i'm like only a teenager, my friends think that im wierd because i like this music? I enjoy reading and thinking and writing and listening to stuff that reminds me of ball gowns and swirling dance parties and courting and royalty. Is that such a bad thing? Who cares what i like? Why is it their concern?

    And yes, this is a wonderful piece. :)

  • @DarlingNikki2 I'm in no way trying to say that they should think that eternal flame is weird, but that is a bit off to say that she's too highly evolved. Maybe she's a bit more mature, but I wouldn't degrade her friends to some sort of devolved subhuman that way though. I am the exact same way about music and intellectual development, but I don't see myself as a "More Evolved" being than any of my peers.

  • @RockStarRiey10 Agreed. I mean, come on, do we listen to these pieces because we actually enjoy Dvorak or just as to make a "statement"? When people go and say things like, "I'm young and like this over (modern day band)", that's kind of what it strikes me as. :(
