keep in mind, as an infectious disease spreads, you will have less and less access to anti-biotics, luckily, many common plants can literally be used to prevent infection. for example: purple coneflower is a weed that grows all over the country, regularly ingesting its leaves has been proven to significantly strengthen the immune system. You cant ALWAYS rely on pharmaceuticals. but a high enough dose of cone flower leaf, can really increase your ability to resist infection and gain immunity.
just remember hand sanitizes is only good for five hand cleansing, the only way is the thorough hand washing, well, according to CDC, outstanding video, also in a survival situation, there are other considerations, besides influenza, would there not be contamination of water supply, cholera, if one has to deal with droplet exposure, isolation has to practiced,
I recommend a russian GP5 gasmask, its cheap & it covers all the things around your face. I have a stockpile of 10 at least & a number of other more modern gasmasks, more expensive but even better.
There is so much (unintentional) misinformation in this video, it's hard to know where to start. Viruses aren't bacteria, air borne disease is different than blood borne. And some of your "remedies" aren't effective at all (except for a placebo effect). I would honestly like to come here and see things that you really know about: prepping fish correctly, tips about gear, how to make a good TX BBQ. :o) These things are important and I know you have real knowledge of them!
Whatever you do, don`t get the pig flue vaccine. It`s full of bad stuff. Statistically, the pig flue is milder than receiving medical attention in any hospital. Stay out of the hands of regular doctors.
all but 1 of my friends have confurmed cases of N1H1 and i am fine. this is not a joke. they all are btween 18-13 and i good shape. with tamaflue they got better in 2 weeks. and all the time i have spent around them i feal fine.
Its like a "don't use it, lose it" type deal. Just like every other system in your body, you have to use and maintain it in good working order or else it will become weak. I just use really hot water when I wash my hands.
bama will soon make growing crops illegal as part of his plan to enslave the American people and sicken them with government approved processed foods that will be rationed off at local food centers. We must prepare now and build great fortresses in the Canadian wilderness if we are to survive this tyrannical change.
You love your family! I believe that you are trying to do all that you can to protect them. We feel the same. It isn't going overboard to try to think ahead and do all you can to protect and provide. Regrets will bleed your heart dry and you will feel helpless and lost!
I hope people take this seriously and keep their heart strong and can say, "I've thought about this and decided to...etc."
Women need to take initiative sometimes and begin to "stash" some things away into a "survival" cabinet!
Kevin for you & your family's sake, I strongly urge you to look into colloidal silver. I believe this stuff is so powerful that it makes all other measures redundant. Of course there's no harm in doing it all. Anyway don't take my word for it, do your own research. Finally whatever else you do, don't take any vaccines/ immunisations.
@utw888 It's the people who freak about the vaccinations that create the spread of the disease. I know you won't believe me because there is a fringe that simple is paranoid, but at least consider that a bunch of MDs - who have studied for years - know more about this than you. The CDC does one helluva good job.
it has been found that antibacterial soap acutally helps to spread infection because it kills the good as well as the bad virusii/bacteria etc. I would switch to regular soap, as it has been proven to clean just as well.
The problem isn't with the dead "bad" bacteria, it's the death of the good stuff. It's the good stuff that protects us. When we again get in contact with the bad bacteria, then the good stuff that is produced on our skin is dead, so we get infected. With regular soap, it keeps both in balance and at a level that we don't get sick from it. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. I'm not a chemist or scientist. I read all the studies though and Antibacterial stuff isn't in my house anymore.
As an addendum to what 1971emily said, the "bad bacteria" are already becoming immune to the chemicals in anti-bacterial soaps...its called "antibiotic resistant super-bugs". But there is no evidence yet that these bad bacteria are immune to simpler, time-honored methods yet...plain soap, alcahol-based sanitizers, and possibly colodial silver and herbal methods.
@quint150 Yes, you are screwed. In an emergency the unproductive members of society will die off first.
My suggestion is to make yourself more useful to other people. Volunteer at your church, or the hospital/police/firefighter station, or in a youth program in your area. They when the SHTF you will have lots of friends and useful skills, people will need you, so they will protect you and share with you.
DUDE!!! Where did you get that case of N-95 masks? I can't find a place to buy a big case like that! Only small cases and it probably is costing me more!
rooftopeagle - there are resellers on my forum that can get you just about anything. Go to the survivalistboards forum, scroll about half way down to page and look for the survival gear and equipment section.
great advise and the face mask is not over rated. hasmat suits have them ,riot police have them, and machinist use them. ok now for the punch line in 28 days later do you think the dad would of got infected if he had even the glasses or face mask? short answer no 5* keep em coming
We have the regular cloth masks, the N95 masks and Sawflys, along with nitrile gloves. The gloves are part of our first aid kid, and nitrile is less likely to cause an allergic reaction. All of this is for possible future "problems" For now, we keep alcohol based hand cleanser in our vehicles (along with a pack of N95s) . We also keep antibacterial wipes that we use when we go to the store and use on a cart. Coming home, its straight to the sink with some antibacterial soap.
i can say that hand sanitizer doesn't work well. In biology we were doing a project where we grew bacteria in a petri dish that we gathered from around the school, and after we grew it we chose three antibacterial substances (Listerine, Soft Soap, Germ-X, and other things like that) and tested how well they worked.. Germ-X , Listerine, and Lysol failed, but soft soap passed...
bro, I've seen a lot of your survival videos & I sware, your family would survive a nuclear bomb, why do I think if something bad happened that your house would transform into a giant robot & run your whole family to safety. Great video though
Well if you are familiar with his videos at all, you would see that he is putting up a whole "Series" of videos on natural disaster/ plague protection. Since there has been a big scare about these type of things spreading worldwide and killing millions, I'm guessing he wants to inform people about how to protect themselves.
i wouldn't be so sure. Monsanto can now put vaccines in their genetically modified foods. Most (almost all) grocery stores and fast food sell GM foods by the truckload. Next time you take a bite of corn you could be vaccinating yourself.

Sorry but that is a myth, anti-bacterial soap and antibiotics are not the same thing. Antibiotics prevent bacteria from reproducing and your body does the rest, as for anti-bacterial soap it kills the bacterial by drying it's protective membrane, they can not became resistant to that unless they evolve into something entirely different. Antibiotics are useless against viruses.
DieBlutgrafin:If you want to slam anti-bacterial soap, then put what will work. Besides, several years ago the FDA studied the anti-bacterial soaps and found they did NOT cause bacterial resistant, over use of antibiotics do.
When someone occasionally gets sick in my family, we never passes in on to anyone else. We quarantine, diffuse, wash our hand often, and diffuse with Thieves oil which kills airborne bacterial and viruses. We love the diffuser because it is all natural and works.
Been experimenting with colloidal silver for 3 years now and i swear i have never had a cold yet. Iv felt the cold starting i.e sore throat and sneezing, all i do is make up a bottle and drink a small glass once a day and rinse my mouth out 3 times a day and i shake off the illness. It's easy to make and can be used for all sorts even for killing all germs in drinking water. I am at this moment constructing an 18 volt portable silver generator which wil have a solar charging sell.
PayChkSlaveRebellion - there is also a fit test certification that you can do. There is a hood that you put over your head, then a scented spray is sprayed into the hood. If the N95 is fitted properly, you will not smell or taste anything.
My biggest worry is when we turn the water on to wash our hands....the tap is now germy and then we wash and turn it back off........re-infecting our hands. We leave germs on the tap and well as the soap dispenser. Any suggestions besides the paper towels I use to turn the water on?

N 95 masks will not help in a viral plague. A virus is one of the smallest organisms in existence.
The only sure bet in the wake of a epidemic is long term isolation, or having a superior immune system.
You are alive today because one of your ancestors developed immunity to some of the nastiest of the nastiness when it comes to disease.
If you want to make sure to kill anything on your hands, pure rubbing alcohol is the only way to go, it actually lifts possible infected body oil.
