I recommend a russian GP5 gasmask, its cheap & it covers all the things around your face. I have a stockpile of 10 at least & a number of other more modern gasmasks, more expensive but even better.

And some of your "remedies" aren't effective at all (except for a placebo effect). Kevin for you & your family's sake, I strongly urge you to look into colloidal silver. I believe this stuff is so powerful that it makes all other measures redundant. Of course there's no harm in doing it all. Anyway don't take my word for it, do your own research. Finally whatever else you do, don't take any vaccines/ immunisations.

it has been found that antibacterial soap acutally helps to spread infection because it kills the good as well as the bad virusii/bacteria etc. I would switch to regular soap, as it has been proven to clean just as well.

The problem isn't with the dead "bad" bacteria, it's the death of the good stuff. It's the good stuff that protects us. When we again get in contact with the bad bacteria, then the good stuff that is produced on our skin is dead, so we get infected. With regular soap, it keeps both in balance and at a level that we don't get sick from it. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. I'm not a chemist or scientist. I read all the studies though and Antibacterial stuff isn't in my house anymore.

As an addendum to what 1971emily said, the "bad bacteria" are already becoming immune to the chemicals in anti-bacterial soaps...its called "antibiotic resistant super-bugs". But there is no evidence yet that these bad bacteria are immune to simpler, time-honored methods yet...plain soap, alcahol-based sanitizers, and possibly colodial silver and herbal methods.

My suggestion is to make yourself more useful to other people. Volunteer at your church, or the hospital/police/firefighter station, or in a youth program in your area. They when the SHTF you will have lots of friends and useful skills, people will need you, so they will protect you and share with you.

We have the regular cloth masks, the N95 masks and Sawflys, along with nitrile gloves. The gloves are part of our first aid kid, and nitrile is less likely to cause an allergic reaction. All of this is for possible future "problems" For now, we keep alcohol based hand cleanser in our vehicles (along with a pack of N95s) . We also keep antibacterial wipes that we use when we go to the store and use on a cart. Coming home, its straight to the sink with some antibacterial soap.

i can say that hand sanitizer doesn't work well. In biology we were doing a project where we grew bacteria in a petri dish that we gathered from around the school, and after we grew it we chose three antibacterial substances (Listerine, Soft Soap, Germ-X, and other things like that) and tested how well they worked.. Germ-X , Listerine, and Lysol failed, but soft soap passed...

i wouldn't be so sure. Monsanto can now put vaccines in their genetically modified foods. Most (almost all) grocery stores and fast food sell GM foods by the truckload. Next time you take a bite of corn you could be vaccinating yourself.

Other options to look into are:

10ppm Colloidal Silver and even a home Colloidal Silver Generator. Silver has many antimicrobial (all microbes) properties. You can build a generator at home easily.

Also ViraStop, I forget the manufacturer. Ive taken it while Ive had the normal flu and seemed to recover much quicker. Supposedly it attacks virus proteins. You can find it at health food shops or on amazon.

Ive used both safely and with positive results.

Don't forget to sanitize your keyboard and mouse on the computer. My kids dump all kinds of germs and viruses that they pick up at school while using the computer. We keep antibacterial wipes by all the computers, but you can use sanitizer sprays on it, too.

Washing hands and face with soap is the best defense, but take your time and let the soap do it's job.

Sorry but that is a myth, anti-bacterial soap and antibiotics are not the same thing. Antibiotics prevent bacteria from reproducing and your body does the rest, as for anti-bacterial soap it kills the bacterial by drying it's protective membrane, they can not became resistant to that unless they evolve into something entirely different. Antibiotics are useless against viruses.

It's thought to increase bacterial resistance not only to the chemicals used, but also to anti-biotics.

PayChkSlaveRebellion - there is also a fit test certification that you can do. There is a hood that you put over your head, then a scented spray is sprayed into the hood. If the N95 is fitted properly, you will not smell or taste anything.

My biggest worry is when we turn the water on to wash our hands....the tap is now germy and then we wash and turn it back off........re-infecting our hands. We leave germs on the tap and well as the soap dispenser. Any suggestions besides the paper towels I use to turn the water on?
