Would you agree that a significant number of people are harmed and property damaged on an annual basis as a result of motor vehicles being driven? The legislation that has been put in place in relation to the individual driving a vehicle on a (public) road is to ensure the safety of people and property. Surely that is in keeping with the principal of common law and those who wish to drive (as opposed to travel within) a vehicle should agree to adhere to them? It would be rather selfish if not...

People who crached and harmed would be liable under common law still and would find it hard to fob off as an accident.

If you don't have to have a licence or undergo training, do you not think it likely that there would be more accidents? 100% correct.All served against the legal fiction.
A legal fiction is defined as .....something known to be false but assumed to be true for legal purposes.Slight colour of law there.Notice the term legal as opposed to lawful.
