They issued a statement manifesting their official position regarding the matter of sovereignty violation, and along with Germany and the other BRIC states didn't vote (neither for nor against) in the resolution of deploying UN forces to Libya. That, in my humble opinion as a fellow NATO state citizen, was the wisest move.
