  • @ twocvbloke I have found out that it is a safety switch!! Mine dont have pne and all that is there is two wires that are red and white connected to a terminal block. Could this mean mine is a single speed???? and I should get a switch I guess. It does work fab, but I want it to be spot on!! Thanks, Mark x

  • What is the small black plastic piece under the fan and to the right of it? Mine hasn't got one?!?!?

  • @abba1974

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, unless you mean under the bag, in which case that's a later HeritageII-type Mini-Emtor which I used to upgrade the Tradition to use later Style-3 type bags (MicronMagic, HEPA and Polypropylene)... :)

If you meant something else, I'm not sure what you're looking at... :S

  • Looks good! I just picked up a 3-CB Tradition the other day. Even before I did the tune up, it fired up and ran awsome. Them Rug Rennovators work nice. I got one for my Dual Sanitronic 50.

  • Thanks, the Trad's my favourite, even if it is only a single-speed Kirby (220/240v versions)!!! I have still yet to buy some shampoo for my Kits so I can try them out and clean up my carpet at the same time... :D

The great thing about Kitbys is that they just keep working, no matter how bad they look, so often don't need much internal work to get them going again... :D

  • For savagebasher1: Is your 3-CB the one that has the controversial safety switch design and a metal fan (serial F750000 and below)?

I would like to see you make videos of your 3-CB in action.

  • Have you cut anymore Kirby videos that you will soon think about uploading?

  • Not as yet no, my laptop conked out and died on me so I've moved over to Linux to "get used to it" and I haven't a clue how to do anything video-wise on it yet... :)

Plus, I can't actually see the videos on YouTube at the moment, all I get is a grey box, I can hear the videos, but not see them... :(

  • The Tradition's Miracle Head is dark blue in color (like the overall trim color of the vac itself) and has a belt lifter with a blue decal with the Kirby name in silver.

  • Is that scratchy sound made by the vacuum cleaner, or is it just an audio problem?

Are those attachments very hard to come by? I have a '76 Classic III and I could get some use out of one of those Miracle Heads.

  • Hi, the audio trouble is just my camera at fault, it's only a digital camera, next time I do a video using my camera I'll record the audio seperately on my minidisc recorder!!! As for the tools, if you scout around eBay, there's often some toolsets for sale including the Rug Renovator kit which includes the Miracle Head... :)

  • I have a 77 Classic III and I need the instructions. Does anyone know where I can get them? Thanks

  • Try ebay. I actually got my manual with a very clean CIII Rug Renovator kit off ebay.

Also, there's a PDF version of the instructions, but it's several files. You'd have to join a Kirby Yahoo Group (can't remember the URL) in order to get them, but it's free. Ask twocvbloke where to get the PDFs of the manual, I think he'd know. :)

  • I think you mean with the Classic III's 'Miracle Head.'

  • Yes, I do, my mistake!!! :D
