  • The only reason labour got in was people were sick of the liberals. And if the liberals get in again it also will be a win by default. We need constitutional change to force politicians to provide scientific evidence to back up their legislation.

  • they normally have plastic cups but that was one big glass

  • what a dickhead..!!! Easily a worse treasurer than Jim Cairns and that is saying plenty.

Last election he had a massive swing against him and only kept his seat by way of Greens preferences.

Heaven help the future of this country.

  • Evil geek bastard. Did he crack a horn and smash the glass ?

  • "Tony Abbott will make his budget speech tonight and said he will deliver a clear alternative" *Breaks glass* "That mother fucker..."

  • @TheBomberstorm You realise he did correct himself directly after that by saying Late 90s, Early 20s. Stupid Fucking Nazi Conservatives.

  • he must be pretty strong to break a glass like that.

  • This guys a bumbling fool. And to think that he's running our economy! What the hell are we in for???

  • Wayne Swann was left a little 'broken', after an 'unfortunate' incident - I thought the ABC was unbiased

  • @SteveBah It is funny though, the glass somehow broke on the desk.......I guess it gave the media something to get excited about

  • I just can't stop laughing at this............honestly....there is something seriously wrong with this bloke ........I saw that years ago........and thats why I voted Liberal !

  • roflmao whoever voted these douche bags in are fucktards

  • I can't believe he's the Treasurer of this country. Last time Labor returned a surplus was 1989. This bumbling arse clown needs to go on holiday.

  • Lol he sounds like he peaking on speed

  • the swan needed water

  • @als2507 El oh el at you writing and removing four reply comments. Guess Swann isn't the only one without a steady hand.

  • @hayesism Guess not, but you're not a journalist are you?

  • @als2507 Um, no? You don't need to be a journalist to have conviction. A virtue lacked by you, Swann, and the Left in general.

  • @walkabout09 The people decided last year.

  • Aussies, little minds focus on little things, and that's what they want. Trust if you think this is a democracy your deluded, people power, get what you want, if you vote for them or them you are in reality voting for them same thing, they are both the same, they just trick you into thinking they not.

  • labor the past decade have been extremely shit on the federal level, why the fuck would people vote for julia and wayne...abbot might be a dick but at least he has the right policies

  • When people voted for Labor they didn't vote for this. They were doing so much better when Rudd was in charge. At the moment I wouldn't vote for Gillard but i wouldn't vote for Abbott either.

  • @Dalkeeshful

Thats why we are all fucked. I don't know if Liberal would be any better because they haven't had the chance to let anything go wrong, but what I do know is that their current policies aren't set on tens of billion dollar plans and badly thought out taxes that sound like they have been devised by six year olds.

Unfortunately in a democracy like Australia you HAVE to vote for the big guys or let the big guys get ass raped by a bunch of fucking idiots for 3 fucking years.

  • this guys is in charge of billions of dollars . he broke that by holding it to tight stress out fool

  • LOL. Poor Mr. Swan. The ABC crew should give him a stress ball along with the glass of water the next time they interview him!

  • Which ABC radio station was he broadcasting from when this happened?

  • 'Labor wasn't in power during the great growth spurt in the late 1980s'

Yeah, you were Swanny. Remember Bob Hawke? You idiot

  • The PM and the labor party are ruining this Country. Its sad to see such a lack of support for the Government after the latest budget, but It's really their own fault. They are addressing issues that are not important to the public, when clearly there are issues that NEED to be fixed, like our roads, health system, asylum seekers, schools.

How about raising the pension for pensioners who've worked their whole life, payed taxes their whole life and are now struggling to put food on the table..

  • mumbling, stumbling, stuttering *rick!!!

  • Don't blame me - I voted for Abbott!

  • @ExpertCriticism Well that would make you a wanker

  • The "set top box" idea is a bloody joke - even staunch supporters of theirs should admit it is stupid and careless.

  • Wayne Swan is incompetent, and I dare you to prove he isn't.

  • The Swan once again proves he is a goose!

  • Swan - game, set, match - biggest fuck wit in the ALP.

  • Epic fail Wayne Swan...Epic Fail

  • Swanny just answer the question! or yes, and trick with glass did not help...

  • Why do the media try to beat up minor events. At least the ABC didn't blow it up to sound like he did it deliberately like some of the commercial stations did but still why are we focusing on a broken glass when there are far more important issues around? It just goes to show that what the news focuses on is crap. Small things for small minds. I wish we could get away from the 10 second sound clip and get back to the incisive and in-depth reporting that used to be the norm 20 years ago.

  • @raybal57 It isn't a trivial issue. No-one's giggling just because he broke a glass -- these things happen. It was the timing of it. He broke it because he was so nerve-racked by being asked a very simple question on the Australian treasury that any Australian treasurer should know. It revealed not only his lack of interest in a healthy economy, but his fear that Australians would recognise this disinterest. It showed that he has been counting on people remaining stupid.

  • @raybal57 The media, owned and operated by right supporters, is obviously going to blow up an incident like this - the right and their supporters are like school yard kids, teasing and jesting over any thing - and it's because they lose on policies alone

  • @JohnMellington true that
