@donhsi Yes, this was shot with an iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S shoots even better video. Check out some of the other videos on my channel for those comparisons.
@SkillCasting I missed the "this is shot with an iPhone4" at the beginning, sorry. As always, your video is professional, precise, clear to the point.
sometimes I like to use a handheld mic for interview. Can I plug in a dynamic (or condenser) mic to the Sony UWP-V1 Transmitter input (Mic and/or Line)?
@donhsi Hmm, I haven't tried that. What a good idea. The Sony transmitter has a 3.5mm jack that does have a screw down to it. This prevents the 3.5mm lav wire from accidently coming out. I don't see why you couldn't plug in a different mic though. I'll have to remember that one.
You can also get this kit with both a lav mic AND a wireless omnidirectional mic. Best of both worlds that way I guess.
@SkillCasting Indeed there is UWP-V2 that come with a handheld mic, which cost about the same; It would be nice to use the same receiver and simply replace the lavaliere with a handheld for interview or broadcasting. Or does Sony sell the handheld Mic/transmitter alone?!
There is this saying, "You get what you pay for". I bought the Audio Techinca 88w and found nothing but static and drop offs. I find myself continually trying to tune it in with little to no success. Your demo has convinced me to shell out the $500 bucks for excellent sound and peace of mind the Sony system brings.. Just don't tell my wife.
@peacefulpony Here's an example I did for a client that was shot indoors in my office. I think it's about 12x14. It'll give you a good example of the sound quality indoors. youtube.com/watch?v=on6g5AkLg6g
WOW!! That was a great demonstration, excellent sound quality throughout. A budget buster at the moment though, may put it on my Christmas list. Will this setup work with a HTC Thunderbolt?
@BobPatenaude Yeah, it's not cheap. I needed it for client work so I could justify it. If you have the right kVConnection cable, (check out their site) for your HTC Thunderbolt, it should work. It'll work with other cameras with a 3.5mm mic-in jack too.
I've been a bad boy so all I'm getting for Christmas is a lump of coal. :-)
you didn't shoot this video on iPhone, did you? Quality is very very nice!
