  • pearl jam is playing in the background of all my earliest memories .. <3

  • i've never heard this one before, i've been listening to them for like 8 years and never heard it. what a catalog they have!!

  • I LOVE PEARL JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First chord I thought it was Even Flow and I was like, Wtf mate?

  • i love this. Pearl Jam FOREVER!

  • sweet!!!!!!

  • @logand307 I dont think so... o.o Just sayin...

  • LA MEJOR BANDA DEL MUNDO

  • thats not the end of the song? wtf?

  • ts as awesome. thealbum is pure gold!

  • I LOVE HIS song

  • best band ever

  • You didnt need to be a teen to love this band during the 90's or even now.Yes,..Long Live Eddie Vedder!!

  • Happy Birthday James Hetfield

  • PJ is awesome

  • i wish i was a teen through the 90s, just for the music.

  • @PBPsexMACHINE It was not that great since everything still sounded the same thanks to the standard corporate routine. Mainstream media obscured the good stuff to a large degree and just served up some more marketable crap in its place. Not say good music was not there, obviously it was (is) but the overall exposure you got from radio and tv was the same garbage it is now.

  • @OctoSnuffaluffagus Thanks for trying to set the record straight (no pun etc) about the music scene back in the 90s.

I read so many comments on youtube by teens who say stuff like "wow, music was so much cooler back then" - but this is rose-coloured glasses type talk and overlooks the fact that the majority of the music played on radio and video channels back then was cheesy/commericalised pop crap, just like it is now. PJ & Co were more a lucky exception than the rule.

  • where is the second part?

  • layne staley is better then andy wood all rip but facts are facts

  • Why compare? Maybe Andy would have been a superstar.. but maybe not. Just be happy that Eddie found Stone etc. Or they found him. Can't change the history of the greatest band ever. BTW, love this young wailing EV. A true work of art.

  • this song is on the anniversary edition of the ten album and you cut off a good 2 min of it. weaaaaak

  • What a great track.

  • One of my favorites penned by Vedder and Gossard.

  • This my favorite PJ song.

  • Anyone know if they played this live, looked at a few 92 bootlegs but can't find one

  • This is awesome, so many great pearl jam songs

  • it's sad that some shit about Hannah Montana comes up when you type in "Just A Girl."

  • @goofygobber101 lol :)

  • What album is this from?

  • this song has some of the best bass work he ever pulled. love the fretless

  • I saw these guys at Bonnaroo summer 2008. Pretty bad ass. But Eddie chugged some JD before the encore and started preaching.

  • Jeff Ament rocks.

  • the new lyrics were only done in the last couple of years and its never a full song until the band agree's on the lyrics and guitars etc. but thanks younglad, your half right anyway. you dont sound like a know it all either lol

  • brother was'nt a full song when ten released. it was just an instrumental. the lyrics were only done in the last couple of years, thats why it never made ten but this song should have been on it. i think it's why i fell in love with the 5 mussketeers album.

  • Can't believe it's a No Doubt cover.

they've changed the whole lyrics and music too...

  • Comment removed

  • i lawd

  • its not dumbshit

  • I love this song. Too bad they never play it live.

  • i think they might have played it on mtv unplugged i cant remember

  • sorry. they didnt. they played alive, jeremy, even flow, black and state of love and mind and, last but not least, porch

  • state of love and trust, thats the one i was thinking of, i had it confused with this one

  • no prob

  • @marcen12 and oceans!

  • @GigiPeluzza yes! and oceans! why did i forget that one?!

  • I believe Stone and Jeff had some issues with it.

  • LONG LIVE PEARL JAM!!

    GOD DAMNIT.

  • i love pearl jam because there songs what to make me do something of my life you know

  • your heart's in the right place but your grammar isnt lol

  • Just heard this for the first time on the Ten re-issue. How the hell didn't this make the final cut for the album?!

  • @Doifebag too many good songs, would've had to change the name to "eleven" :)

  • @dennisjr77 The album isn't named "Ten" because it has ten songs on it..the original Ten had eleven songs. It's called "Ten" because before they were Pearl Jam, they were Mookie Blaylock. Ten was Mookie's number.

  • @dennisjr77 Ten wasn't called Ten because of the number of songs on the album. The original had eleven songs, anyway. Pearl Jam, before they became Pearl Jam, called themselves "Mookie Blaylock." Mookie was a basketball player and his number was 10.

  • @Doifebag How the hell didn't Breath or State of love and trust. They must have had them around by then. Because the album was already fucking stellar.

  • @Doifebag Because there was too many hits on it. They couldn't put one more there :)

  • Great song, I just got the release of ten and was happy to see it was a bonus track.

  • I love the solo on this one... and the buildup leading into it!

this is PJ in their infancy

  • fuck what a jam!

  • shoulda been on ten. such brilliant intensity like the other songs on that album

  • ^^THIS soooo hard!

  • i see why it didnt make Ten....but its still wicked great.

  • I dont

  • wot albums this off?

  • It's an unreleased song from the Ten sessions. It'll be on the new remixed version of Ten, along with a lyrically enhanced Brother, SOLAT, Breath, and more.

  • wow!!!! ... that voice..that power!!

  • it's fucking awesome !

  • mookie blaylock!

  • I have this same song...when i downloaded it it gave credit to mlb, but i was like nooo, thats eddie singing....

  • Can someone send me the MP3 of this? i would be eternally grateful - to sound really naff - but i would really love to have this song!! Please? lol

  • just go and download one of their cds featuring unreleased songs, its totally worth it...........i love this song more than everything.

  • Any one that talks shit about pearl jam is a joke dont be haters Nirvana fans he loved nirvana in fact he said that was his favorite band.

  • Just cuz i hear a china kan and Cameron never uses chinas.

  • Drummer is proly Krussen.

  • was this cameron on this recording?

  • the drummer on the picture is dave abbruzzese!

don't know who is the drummer on the record

  • What?

  • pIEDpIPER21 asked "was this cameron on this recording?"

  • @Badmotorfinger112 dave krusen is the drummer on the record

  • I love the way he play.

  • @Badmotorfinger112 That would dave Kushner...Eleven?

  • @Badmotorfinger112 Dave Krusen was the original drummer. He left after he recorded all the songs for the Ten sessions.

  • YOU CANT COMPARE GREATNESS ANDY AND EDDIE ARE SO GOOD WHY COMPARE. Everything happens for a reason. Andys death brought the public to know one of the best music voices of ALL TIME Edddie Vedder. And the best thing we can do is NEVER put away the mother love bone music always let it be heard for those that have never got to enjoy it PJ forever.

  • Agreed. Both are two of the greatest frontmen of all time. Andy and Eddie were/are so fucking AMAZING!!!

  • to quote Eddie from a show a few years back:

"Yeah, Andy would've liked it here..."

I love both groups, but it would've been nice to have them both succeed too. Destiny can be bittersweet.

  • @heimtime3 motherlovebone, temple of the dog, the kids need to hear it! :)

  • i like love bone but they were much more one dimensional in my opinion, granted they didn't get a fair shot to evolve and grow. I also think that just about no one can compare to Eddie's emotion

  • I'm Pearl Jam obsessed, and I'm open to any questions, general or specific :)

  • Do you seriously feel Andy Wood's voice was better than Eddie's? Not even close is my opinion.

  • You just answered your own question..."is my opinion"

  • @fckrocknroll lol :) lol :) :) :)

  • Yes!

  • what are you new to the music scene? Eddie's one of the best lead singers/songwriters we have today. Stop watching MTV and start exploring real music kid.

  • who was that aimed at?

  • probably at fireplug111

  • Hey, I dont really have a big opinion on PJ probly becuase i would much rather have Mother Love Bone being a far superior band and frontman.

BTW i love reading your posts lol. The one on the STP unplugged video was a funny read. : )

  • what is up with you ?...are u too stuck up to realize good music when u hear it....you have an awesome voice awesome guitarist awesome lyrics awesome riffs awesome solos...and theres really no one who sounds like them ...none of the other "grunge" bands sounded like pj.....infact all the major ones like stp aic pj sg mh ect.... the all had a unique sound ...why are u calling them a joke do you even have a reason? except to be an ass?

  • did it end too soon?

  • I have no idea. not a huge fan of Pj tbh. hopefully some1 can enlighten us or put the full song on. sorry if it does : )
