  • Why does the what looks like smoke form under the engine like that?

  • @harmonygalpal9 because it's water?

  • @harmonygalpal9 It's the reverese thrust from the engine blowing the moisture from the runway. It's not smoke, it's mist.

  • imagine some people use to think they reversed the engines, which is impossible, and I can't count the arguments I have had explaining the reverse thrusters, but now they can see what I've tried to explain in your video, so thanks alot

  • saw my first 747 in honolulu back in 2009 pretty awesome bird

  • By far the best way to show thrust reversal.

  • Hands down best aircraft ever made.

  • very nice

  • Those engines look like Henry Kissinger's nostrils.

  • Это обычный реверс. Все самолеты при посадке так тормозят.

  • @dmi94121 Посмотреть все равно интересно)

  • @RCoster47 Не то слово, особенно если не знать что это и смотреть через иллюминатор ;)))

  • Best thing about EVA Air is that its Taiwanese :P

  • EVA Air is one of the best airlines worldwide....

  • cool the way the ground comes up fast

  • I've seen this video about 6 times, amazing how something so simple can be do enjoyable.

  • Wingflex=Porn.

  • I didn't know jet engines could reverse :O

  • @treetooone How did you not know that? Every airliner has it!

In fairness, though, it's not the engine itself going into reverse, it's just redirecting the thrust in the opposite direction. Sorta like pointing a hose one way, the twisting it to face the opposite direction. The initial flow is in the same direction, the engine's still taking in air at the front.

  • @treetooone Its the thrust of the engines that are being reversed, I.E, it is directed forward

  • @treetooone If they couldn't, airplanes will be needing 10km of runway!

  • That was a NICE FUCKING LANDING!

  • That was a perfect landing!

  • cool, fully sick bro

  • that's the best way to dry a wet runway XDXDXDXDXD

  • So can they take off in reverse then?

  • @setabretsam Hehe, yes, but backwards...(-;

  • wow! super! magic! what a picture!!! wow!! you must be able to run fukin fast to get a picture like that!!

  • planes should throw an anchor over board to slow it down !!!!

  • this looks a bit dangerous in reverse thrust mode the engine closer to the window seems to be dumping air into the engine next to it . what if it blows debris in to the engine from the tarmac ?

  • @nowheelspin That´s why they have workers "patrolling" the runways all day, watching for debris :)

  • @Firelife3 human eyes i read somewhere that they use lazer to check the landing track !

  • Can I use that engine to clean my room? :)

  • why is there like air wave at the ground when it land while the other planes like a340 can't create ?

  • @TRANS2AMS it says it in the title. REVERSE thrust to help jet airliners stop.

  • @metaknight95 yea i know but is it a special feature that the 747 engines can do or can other plane engine like the a340 do the same coz youtube don't hav any vid of the a340 doing the same thing .....

  • @TRANS2AMS all commercial and now most private jets have some sort of reverse thrust. here is a video of an A340 doing the same thing... enjoy :) watch?v=DHYI7bKNhZg

  • Nice!!

  • I was in there!!!!

  • 0:25 -> LOL in the first moment i thought someone would have a picknick on the grass there xDDD

  • @TheMasterOfTheSkys yes i too !!!

  • looks like fire 0:38

  • Awesome video!

  • @Roberto7474001 airplane mode.....

  • @Roberto7474001 Nonsense rule though seriously - a camera does not interfere with any nav gear and unless youre an idiot youre not going to hurt yourself holding it even on a bumpy landing

  • @irR4tiOn4L Ya i agree. Personally i use my ipod the entire time im on a plane including takeoff and landing. I got yelled at once because of it though. lol

  • @Roberto7474001 Not cameras.....some airlines are maybe prohibiting them too, but the most of them not (I asked pilot ;-) )

  • @Roberto7474001 no u dont. why do you think phones have "airplane mode" on them. not all electrical devices mess with the plane.

  • @Ru55ianGrim I never said they did. The FAA said they do. ok?

  • @Roberto7474001 why???

  • @Roberto7474001 Maybe that phone was on airplane mode

  • @Roberto7474001 Thats only for things that transmit like phones :P

  • @MrAlexHuff Actually, it is for anything with an ON/OFF switch.

  • @Roberto7474001 it is only the electrical devices with wireless communications that mess with the cockpit radio. (like a phone or 3g apple products) Those devices dont even mess with the radio unless there are many of them. Like on a big commercial plane. Trust me i know, we have a lear-jet 25. The pilot on our plane lets us use our devices because there are not enough of them to mess with the radio.

  • @Roberto7474001 get a room gayboys

  • @DECIMATOR657 Go suck ur mommas hairy cunt!

  • COOL!

  • FANTASTIC video! :)

  • ...EZ A SUGÁRFÉK! :)

  • I love having the window seat :D

  • during my first flight wen i saw this i though the engines are breaking apart

  • I can get random thumbs up :D

  • Now i gotta find @whogivesAratsARSE comment to know the whole history lol..thumbs up :P

  • THAT IS OUR WATER

  • youre suppose to turn off all electronic devices on take off and landing! shame on you! hahaha

  • no mamen esos videos son mal echos ok saludos desde mexico adios

  • More than 1 000 000 view!

  • Well, they can dive it nose first into the ground:)

  • it's still remains the beautifulest airplane 747 !

  • nice stuff

  • Thats a really impressive display of power.

  • sick video... the rain really helped capture the reverse thrusts intensity

  • Cool, What i don't understand is airlines make a big deal about shutting off All electronic equipment but a video camcorder's still running and the plane still lands safely with no issues whatsoever....???...???

  • @Majikart Anything that sends a signal I.E cellphones, there signals can interfer with radio/radar im guessing ? I dunno, a camcorder has nothing to emit or send.

  • @Majikart they ask you to shut of all electrical devices with signals or in other words infrared waves because it interferes with the controls like compass, altimeter and visual display systems and a camcorder doesn't really use infrared waves

  • exscellent vid bro

  • Great Post!!

  • cool. I wonder what would happen if the reverse thrust on one side failed to work.... huge yaw effect...... wonder if that has ever happened.......

  • This aint fake i live in gibraltar and pilot has to use this method to land everytime, very dangerous and short runway

  • @vcbenjy lol pilots use reverse thrust for every landing, thats 1 of 3 ways to stop a jumbo. the other 2 are spoilers and brakes. you could also say full flaps if you want to.

  • that's how to dry a runway!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • crazy how a contaminated runway causes this big boy to just keep rolling. sweet video! great :)

  • Reverse thrust is the woman on top position.

  • They're called Thrust Reversers, or T/R's!

  • That was soooo cool. By the look of it, those weren't showers it had been a downpour!. Good video.

  • sick!

  • extradorniary footage there, rare capture there m8

  • 0:24 they filmed the landing ;-)

  • so thats how they dry the runway

  • muito interessante a frenagem pelo reverso.

  • @Ladyboyloverxxx2 Read a book or two and educate yourself. In-flight thrust reversing is NOT probable on most commercial transports. In fact, the only commercial planes that I know of that are capable of that, are the Ilyushin IL-62 and the Tupolev TU-154, and those are both Russian aircraft built in the 1960s.

  • fake and gay

  • @WHOgivesAratsARSE so how do u think they stop a plane going 400 mph?

  • @thetroyster77 when the pilot puts his foot on the break pedal, abs disk brakes

  • @ravetunes so u think u could go from like 400 to 50 in 2km using just the brakes on a wet runway? it might be posible but i dont think they would class it as safe

  • @thetroyster77 Under 300 km/h most of the time when landing, actually.

  • @thetroyster77 140 KIAS

  • @thetroyster77 Lol a plane lands (IN MPH) at 120 mph or higher depending 150 for a 747. shouldnt really say anything intill you know...

  • @ArchAngle199 more like 170MPH for a 747, 150 - 160 for smaller aircraft

  • @thetroyster77 more like 200 but i get what your saying lol

  • @thetroyster77 What plane are you talking about?, planes land at about 150MPH, not 400 :P

  • @thetroyster77 but i get you :P

  • @thetroyster77 400??!! bit less no?? google

  • @thetroyster77 The aircaft type is Boeing 747-400 or Boeing 747-400M. The 400 doesnt mean the speed.

  • @thetroyster77 just for you to know, the maximum speed of landing for 747 is (always depending on the weigh of aircraft, the minimum is 140 knots) 160 knots which is about 185 mph and which is about 300 km/h. Im not a specialist in aviaiton, but i love it :)

  • @thetroyster77 400 mph is a bit to fast for landing dont you think :P

  • @thetroyster77 Just like Flintstones. You simply put your feet on the floor.

  • @thetroyster77 Cowboys, horses, lassos. Clearly.

  • @thetroyster77 Planes land at around 150mph, they cruise at over 500mph

  • @WHOgivesAratsARSE You're a fuckin idiot and your comment was gay (as well as ignorant). Still to your Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez videos and leave aviation to the experts.

  • @Neno8403 go suck your mothers cunt flanges!!

  • @WHOgivesAratsARSE lets see you stop a plane at 400km/h without reverse thrust.

  • @WHOgivesAratsARSE OBVIOUS TROLL IS OBVIOUS

  • how did i get here

  • made in china :D

  • the new hairdryer by Dyson

  • @ballymurphyhoodhater No loss of suction.

  • The Pilot went on this video and disliked it 40 times cause he ran over the runway by a bit :)

  • well, one way to dry the runway! lol

  • That was an excellent video shot.

  • engine wash :)

  • AWESOME

  • how does this get 850,000 views? still an awesome vid though xD

  • eva airlines

  • After watching this video I am wondering that it is safe for the 1 and 4 motor. Its clearly seen that dust is coming into them.

  • @LaggerSVK Most of the engines can take a lot of dust and it wont stall... Everything gets burned in its path, temperatures inside the engines are very high... So don't worry too much :)

  • @sanijava No actually foreign object damage (FOD) is never good for the engine. Lagger is right, it is of concern and it does put wear and tear on the outboard engines. Also the nose gear throws out fod and it gets sucked in as well. Sometimes the blades get damaged and they have to be repaired and sometimes even replaced. That is precisely why pilots do walk-around inspections before each flight. Mechanic does a walk-around inspection AFTER each flight. Aircraft are closely scrutinized.

  • That was AWESOME!!!....

(the 2nd engine is getting all the 1st's water wash, though. Hopefully not bad debris during).

    Thanks for sharing!!

  • haha that was awesome when it kicked up all the water on the runway :P

  • Very Cool :) Thanks for uploading :)

  • love those GE turbines!!!

  • the thrust reversers should be deployed before the plane touches down as far as i'm concerned...it will make for a quicker landing.

  • @Ladyboyloverxxx2 Yea, but not the kind of landing that you may like!! Try thinking about a sudden stall and a faster than safe sink rate!! Nope, not for me! Landing procedures have to be very precisely performed in order to put the aircraft safely on the runway. By the way, certain types of air brake surfaces that are deployed handle the tasks very well indeed.

  • Wtf is up with all those trolls, who have to say that everything is fake?!

man, awesome that u got this on tape! great moment u captured there! :)

  • @roncords its fake

  • @betomembrane man, give me one reason why you think it's fake. do you even know what reverse thrust means?

  • @roncords It's clearly fake; airplanes aren't real. Also, the "airplane" is landing on pavement, which is also not real. Other fictional aspects of this video include grass - clearly not real - and rain - clearly not real.

I also personally don't believe in cameras or the internet. So you're clearly not real, and neither is YouTube or this video.

When you base your conclusions off of facts, you make all sorts of mistakes.

Now excuse me; Jesus just sent me a research proposal.

  • @BenMcCormack91 Spoken like a true fake himself. :-]

  • @BenMcCormack91 nice;D

  • @BenMcCormack91 You mean I am not really typing either ??

  • @BenMcCormack91 rules and safety regulations are also not real, which would explain the use of an electronic, also not real, during landing, which is truly a figment of the human imagination.

  • @BenMcCormack91 airplanes are real...

  • @10newsrox Preposterous.

  • @roncords im a troll and i say its fake

  • @betomembrane your also an uneducated homo

  • AWESOME :D

  • @jeppyHan You're computer generated!

  • @jeppyHan Yeah I noticed that too i mean god a plane landing and especially with a wet runway why would they use reverse thrust for that? Because your obviously a pilot and have seen reverse thrust deploy in rain look at the rain running off the windows that's real trust me man.

  • awesome

  • The real reason they don't want you, using electronics such as phones is because it desterbs other passengers, who paid money to be on the flight. Also its been said it has something to do with giving your flights position away to terrorist or some-thing along the lines. but i highly doubt that part.

  • @xrockbx I got paid once to come for a test on mobile phone inpact on the plane at Cranfield University, UK. All I had to do, was sit in a plane's fuselage for around 40 minutes, and use my phone for a minute.

  • Jules7892...who gives a fxxk what the next plane is called...777 or 666 who cares. This one is a plane. It goes fast. Vrrrm

  • @filthyphil67 yes, nobody cares what the next plane would be named but at least know what you are seeing..

  • I have landed oon this runway with Emirates 777-300ER

  • engines having a drink :D

  • Its called to reverse thrust.. for better braking

  • @ThorJohnny inverse thrust.

  • @AlMayer1100 REVERSE TRUST!!!!!!!!!!

  • faklakeaaa

  • @Angelo3492 tell me how is this fake?

  • Listen Mr. Neno8403, if Boeing has called their latest Plane, the Boeing 777, that what are they supposed to call their next New Plane the Boeing 7??!! You fill in the next 2 numbers. This I.Q. pattern can also be deduced from Boeing 737,777, Do your I.Q. Mr. and give me the next 7?? Next 2 numbers according to the 1st 3 numbers of 737,747,777,???Fill in the I.Q. Logical math progression & lets truly see how intelligent you are!! If you don't know? Then you can call yourself Mr. Neno8403,a Dummy!

  • omg :O nice landing o.o i love thats engines :D!

  • THE BOEING 747 JET TURBO-FAN PASSANGER PLANE DATES FROM THE EARLY 1970s .IT TOO,Although the 2nd Largest Passenger Plane After the AIRBUS 320,THE BOEING 747 is ALSO AN OLD PLANE. TIME IS OVER-RIPE FOR A NEW BOEING 777 or 799.TIME FOR THE BOEING 747 to RETIRE Soon Too!! THIS HAS BEEN THE RESULT OF THE U.S.A. FINANCIAL CRISIS DEBT DISASTER NOT TO FUND BOEING TO BUILD NEW MORE CURRENT LARGE Double Decker BOEING 799 AirCrafts,Rivaling the AIRBUS 320.BUT AIRPORT RUNWAYS NOW NEED 10 Kilometer Lengths!

  • @Jules7892 English clearly isn't your forte. I could barely understand that claptrap you wrote. At any rate, with the little I did comprehend... by your asinine, dumbass logic, the A330/A340 should be retired, too, since it's based on technology from 1970 a la the A300. I hate when idiots/faux aviation fanatics, want to comment so matter-of-factually on topics clearly know jack shit about. I mean, come on now. You're going off on a rant about a fictitious Boeing 799. No credibility. #FAIL
