@TheMuggOst a short throw shifter does exactly what its name suggests. it shortens the throw of the shift while driving. essentially it makes it easier to shift quickly and it makes all shifts much more crisp

Does the knob ever get hot. Bc I had an older wrx with a shorter knob and after a little driving the knob would start to get really hot, I put a sock over it once in a while to help.

I forget the name of the shift knob but I had it in my GTI. It's ice cold in the winter and red f-in hit in the summer FYI.

haha wow i didnt know the 2.5 redlined at 6 1/2 haha shit.. american subaru sucks, i already knew the 2.5 was crap and rev'd low but i thought it was more 7k not 6 1/2k haha, japan has the best, they still rock the high reving light wieght 2.0 in all thier imprezas. glad i got a 2.0.

@EthansOpinion92 you realize the 2.0 was 227hp / 217ft/lbs, the new 2.5 is 265hp / 244ft/lbs. More hp and torque, and it looks like you don't realize high revving means it's harder to utilize your power because you have to keep your revs up to go anywhere. go test drive a civic si, sure it has 200 hp but it feels like a dog because it's torqueless and limp until you hit 6k+ rpm's. more usable power at lower rpm's = better.

Couldn't have said it better myself, at the dealer i sell Honda and Subaru and more brands but the SI feels slow as hell under 6K the WRX would totally destroy it so that's why i purchased a WRX without thinking twice LOL

This is true man i replaced the bushings also just never made a video. The bushings are the most frustrating thing ever i yelled fuck!!!!! so many times hahaha. but once they are in the shifts are way solid.

what? the STi "quick shifter" is a short throw shifter. It pretty much sucks as bad as the standard shifter because the bushings are rubber. Replacing the bushings is more important than the actual shifter in terms of feel.

this how-to install vid is as accurate as it can get.. i did the same thing on MY08 WRX with a TWM short shifter kit. did the same steps and procedures.. no issues! took me 20 mins to install, another 10 mins for the bushings.. nice job man!
