@nolls888 Nevermind I figured it out from your settings. Just chose the brush "artist oils" and then on the 'wet brush' I went to brush controls>general and then just changed the dab type to "circular". ^^
you switch between the two colors. Is there a keyboard shortcut to do that? in photoshop I think it was the x key. i see it's called a "divider" in painter but i can't find the shortcut entry for it.
a world of thank-yous to anyone who can help.
not being able to use a shortcut for that is driving me crazy.
its when you create a new pic theres a section that says movie with and a selection of a number of frames then it will tell u to save once you done that it will give you a choice of onion layers which is how many frames to view at once once you finished one frame click the button to go to the next frame
Turning the drawing with spacebar+alt! That is awesome. I didn't know how to do that. Also about the circle brush instead of camel hair. Off to experiment....
Go to your art shop and buy some brushes and tubes of paint. I gave up wasting valuable time with this program. Also if this video is a guide it's rubbish. He spent 2 minutes fluffing about with his menus by which time I gave up and decided to read the comments. Learn to paint properly not with these computer programs is my comment for the day.
@airscrew1 Painter and actual paint serve two rather different purposes. Oils are good if you're going to sell paintings.. But it's less useful if what you need to do is draw concept art or stuff like that. I think the majority of people who want to learn painter are digital artists with little or no background in traditional art.
I like painter. It's somewhat quirky and the workflow could undoubtedly be better, but it's got some really nice brushes and feels pretty solid for what it is.
AAh You are so cute! It's like you're shy or something, en you are funny, I was laughing so hard when you said 'It's more like an ''ah well'' kind of thing...' Good tutorial ! X
Hey thank you for uploading this. I'm more of a Photoshop person, been trying to get into Painter but always went back to Photoshop. This is a useful starting point so I appreciate you taking the time and effort to make this tutorial. Thanks again.
Nice clear vid, simple, cheers dude

thanks for the vid. hey umm what was the brush name of the painter 6 one you were talking about?
rinjin07 2 years ago
I believe the brush is called 'Brushy'
It's available on the Corel Painter website, under Free Downloads.
It should be in the Brushes zip, under Painter 5 Brushes>Brushes

I am fairly shy for the most part, I have mild social anxiety. Though not planning what I was going to say and go over first probably didn't help =P

What program did you use to record this?
chaddderz 3 years ago
I believe I was using CamStudio for this one, otherwise Camtasia. It's hard to find goo programs for recording what's on your screen.

Couldn't understand a thing from this tutorial just a lot of pausing and mumbling!
Anneelaine 4 years ago
I don't have a very good microphone, but I certainly didn't mumble. The pausing is because I didn't plan it at all though.
