ok i have a 1995 chevy with a 305 4x4 would that 305 be enough for me to get locking diffs front and back and run 31 in tires with a little tread no lift kit
nice, gotta love a 305, i got one that everybody talks shit about but shut there mouths when im the only one still moving at the end of the day with 336,000 miles on it with nothing done except replace the cam and lifters at 310,00 cause it was wiped from age
@91CTD i agree with you about gotta deal on with what you got because of my 84 k5 blazer has a 305 in it and a 700-r4 transmission in it and i could not ask for suck a better truck cause chevy rules
@DRNEGOLICIS Only if they were made in California and Had california Emissions. My grandpop built these trucks and still owns an 87 he bought new. Plus it says so right in the Sales booklets on the back page.
I don't see how you can say you hardly ever see 81-86 C10/K10 trucks with 305's because that's what 75% of them had....Anyone who is tellling you it has a factory 350 is probably blowing smoke up your butt or it's a Cali truck which ran like crap anyway because they were so smogged down.
@91CTD idk i live in south texas i hardly ever see 305s in trucks i did ride in a suburban with a 305 it wouldnt get out of its own way they suck have no power and blow up all the time every one i know that had a 305 swapped for a 350 or 454 or a 6.2L diesel i have a friend that has a 84 chevy c10 with a 700R4 trans and a 350 2bolt main me personaly i have a 1980 chevy c20 HD with a 350 came stock with no emmisions and has the big ported heads and a stock 380HP
@DRNEGOLICIS Hshahahahhah i hope ur kidding....corvettes of the same era didnt have 300hp for you to think you have 380hp stock is the funniest shit ever buddy. 210hp stock and 186 cast iron heads buddy. Youre funny 380hp stock hahahahah
@91CTD Theres like 6 different 350s the high power super heavy duty 4 bolt main one that came in dump trucks had 380 brake horse power learn your shot dumb ass i didnt believe it either until i got one and ran the numbers
@DRNEGOLICIS hahah wow stop you're digging yourself deeper.....I'll have to look that one , the super duty high power 350 that came in dump trucks..
Why would they have 380hp in dump trucks and not have used them in sports cars of the eraa? i mean afterall HP doesn't do SHIT in a dump truck it's about torque.
You have honestly got to be kidding....And if you still think this is real please post up the Block castings of this super duty dump truck 350 thats kickin out 380hp stock.
@91CTD srry 330HP 380FTlbs of torq at 3200RPM i had to look in the GM service manual they quit putting them in trucks after 1981 they were more common in the late 60s trough 70s
@DRNEGOLICIS they dont make as much power but they still aint weak, you got to consider the size of the suburban to, i aint never seen one that want slow
i have a request, could you look at the vid of my truck and tell me if it looks like a 305 or a 350 to you, cause i hope its a 350, but not sure. -thanks
@mrmwman You're wrong theres numbers all over the block, hell it'll even have 5.0 casted into it right below the distributor. you just need a flashlight and a mirror....
\
oh and the vin will tell you....305 is vin H. 8th letter
@offroadingmachine007 The only way to know for sure is to check the VIN. Character position number 8 is the engine code. 'H' is for a 305 on an 82 K5.
behind wally world? haha we go back there all the time my friend got his dodge stuck in the bogs one day it sucked i cant wait till i get my truck gunna be rippin it up!!
haha yeah they suck they need to just let ppl back there we used to go to the hoppingbrook industrial park in holliston theres some good shit there but cops started hangin around so were giving it a few months before we go back
Not necessarily, I have an '86 Blazer with a 305 (I am building a 350 though) and it does great! It helps, however, to have the right exhaust, carburation, intake and cam, as mine does.

305 is probably the worst motor chevy ever made
Baseballstud5964 1 year ago
@Baseballstud5964 no the chevy 2.2 I4 was the worst
diono56 1 year ago
@Baseballstud5964 but its still better than any ford or dodge
onlypresto 1 year ago
@Baseballstud5964 your 100% wrong they run forever. people just don't like them because they're dogs and are common as hell.
truth is they never offered a 350 in a stock 80-86 half ton chevy so you gotta deal with what you got.
and no the 2.8 v6 was worse
