I seriously hope people can stop coming out with theory of how the masks were changed. FYI, this is called 'SiChuan Bian Lian', which means changing masks. This is a Chinese traditional art, NOT magic. So far no one knows the secret of it. Also, since this a traditional art, CAN YOU PEOPLE JUST SHUT UP AND APPRECIATE IT. As a Chinese I am really irritated.

Ok about the mask.... i think i know how after looking at it couple of times... thumbs up if you think this is correct... each individual mask has strings that are place at different positions of his clothes... every time he uses the fan, he is actually not doing anything with the fan... he is actually using his free hand (which is not holding the fan) to pull the strings so that the masks are pulled inside his clothes... just like changing clothes (where the background pulls the clothes)

i think i got it. its like the same as the clothes he has layers on fabric masks on and with the wave of the fan and the movement of the head in will retract a layer of the mask. in this case the quick movement of the head will unlock the mask this is needed so the movement of the fan wouldnt accidently retract the mask and the movement of the fan will retract the mask and this is done with a magnet in the fan and magnet in the mask

For snsd, the thing in the backround pulled off their clothes, but for the guy with the mask, the clothes unfurl from his shoulderpads. as for the masks, theres a mechanism that sucks the previous masks into his collar. they are all paper thin, and only the last mask on the bottom has any shape.
