just finished a 1500 sq foot room. Doing this way would have been EXPENSIVE, so I Google'd it and the best way to get stubborn adhesive off a floor like this is with boiling hot water. Pout water on glue, start to scrape after a few minutes. Just peels off real easy!!
1500SQ Foot of mouse traps would have been more that the replacement flooring :)
@impleasen - Some of "US" need their hands in the best possible condition for their livelihood. Being a professional guitarist, I'd rather not use my hands for that kind of work - besides, it worked and the title (which no one reads) says HILARIOUS, not the "best" or "perfect."
So how much exactly did you spend on Tomcat strips? I can't believe you spent that much time or money on that retarded idea. I might have tried it myself, but then after the first strip I would have abandoned it. But you my friend may have pursued it until then end.
@MrTachyon3000 - the description does say >>hilarious<<. AND........................it did work. Please don't be mad about this, it was just something that helped ME and I wanted to share.
@markybear07 - Why the unnecessary critique. Did you ever think that "I", like you, was looking for a solution to a serious issue I was dealing with and there were no answers online? And my description clearly says - HILARIOUS WAY TO REMOVE..........., etc.
There is nothing wrong with >>trying<< something different to get a desired result.
@Jamsire You are right. I should have considered your feelings before bashing your technique. If it works for you thats great. I ended up purchasing a commercial adhesive remover and soaking the paper and adhesive after I scored it with a putty knife. Between that and a razor sharp scraper, I was able to shave most of the glue and residue off the slab.
