They need that sub-bass to really support the whole band cause there is so much going on. I don't play a very traditional bass role and I'm all over the place so Drop D is ok 90 percent of the time. Also good for ascending arpeggios and those pesky A2 chords

Yeah, those are nice too but it's all about how you play them. They don't sound great when I play them but other people sound amazing on them. I stick to what I know which is Fender, but in my church band I might need to update to 5.0 bass aka 5 string. The gospel stuff is all in B or C and Drop-D isn't cutting it lol

Definitely worth the heft price tag. I have a custom Fender jazz bass 24 quilt top with custom-wound Lindy Fralin pickups, a Badass II bridge and Hipshot tuners and it sounds very similar to yours. Ofourse yours has a bit more sustain and smoothness, but I love it man! Once I get a new camera I'll put up some vids

Those Warwick Rock Basses arent that expensive ? i dont think, i do like the sound you get from them though, but im more into the little more jazzy funky sounding Fender's or Sandberg's .

lol far from it my friend, thats a 1992 warwick corvette. it has the all bubinga body and the all wenge neck with a custom paint job (came that way didnt do it myself). they dont make them like this anymore they were discontinued. this model will run ya bout the same price but im actually tryin to sell mine. where are u located?

If I'm helping on the 5-string subject, i'm starting to hate mine xD

Especially for playing coheed, the B string gets in the way if youre slapping and on this bass it's too loose tuned properly to get a decent rest on it, basically if youre playing a song that needs only 4 strings you have far less freedom. I might try and mod mine so I can put the C string on the bottom and move the rest up. EADGC
