  • nice chords & playing, but i agree the timing is off a bit, sounds choppy and off time, but nonetheless i like the axe and the whole vibe going on... best of luck to ya..

  • Not so good as an acoustic but would do; any electric archtop is usually not so great for acoustic in my experience...

  • @mdhakr They sell this model without the pickup as an acoustic so thought it might be ok, but it sounds like it wouldn't be your first choice. Thanks!

  • Was considering this guitar as well. How do you feel about the acoustic sound? Does it stand on its own or is it a better electric?

  • @cat93abreu

From my head after listening to Frank and others!

  • You are a great player! A wonderful rendition for a wonderful song. Thank you!

  • THanks for your approval...

  • yeaa .. it kinda sounds.. spasmodic? im not sure if that's le mot juste...

  • Nice arrangement, but the timing is not working for me.. before you attpemt a rubato feel, trying playing it in time with a metronome on 2 and 4. Still, a really nice arrangement!

  • Sorry, I wasn't trying to get too technical on this one. I played it at my daughter's wedding and most of the non-musical folk thought it was fine. But I'll think about this for the future.

  • It was better than fine!! It just wasn't perfect... I think a better sense of timing would make things more interesting A la Joe Pass...

  • way cool

  • Danke...

  • Hi Doc ! Nice guitar , very rich and mellow tone .

    Greets

    Captaindomingo

  • Thanks, Capitan, I love it! Plays like butter...

  • Lovely Jack really well played.

  • Thanks, Paul, I really enjoyed your "What Lies Beyond" video. Sounds very NewAgeish and great playing. Jack.

  • Beautifully done, Jack. That's one gorgeous guitar there!! Looking forward to hearing much more played on it!

    Paul

  • Thanks, Paul, the story is actually quite a pain in that I "won" the same kind of guitar about 3 months ago, but didn't realize that there had been damage either from the seller or via the shipping until I had it properly set up by a local luthier about 2 months after I got it. The damage was hidden by the pickguard. Ebay wouldn't help me because I was too late. I'm still waiting for a decision from UPS about damages or I may have to go after the vendor.

  • Very nice guitar! How do you like it? Sounds like it has a nice full archtop sound. Nice arrangement and playing also! Thanks!

  • Steve, the end of the saga is that I saw another one of these babies and bid on it. This guitar (D'Aquisto New Yorker Junior) is a guitar for life! It has a slightly smaller footprint than a full sized archtop and is a breeze to play; the sound is magnificent because the floating pickup allows for no intrusion with blocks into the body of the instrument. You get a fully resonating quality that I certainly like. This is 1 year old used, but MINT. Very, very well made.

  • nice one jack!wow!and a new guitar!gee that ending souds familiar! LOL

  • Freddy, you're the teacher!! LOL
