  • I live near the CC sub! I see those beauty's all the time!

  • and talking to our cats via pictures and these vids.

She DID travel back from St. Louis on Amtrak 2 years ago for whatever thats worth. This ones for you mom.

    (last)

  • Obviously praying to God for any type of thing (a spouse before 90, a family reunion style wedding, or mom's healing) obviously not just a waste, but a total joke!!

Being that she is so bad off, they are surprised that she lasted this long and instead of getting better, she just keeps getting worst. So these classic train vids are for her. Now I will go and make pretend were traveling across the Rockies in some antique train ... (2)

  • This is some BS!! My mom ALWAYS loved old style trains and her dream vacation was to take a trip across the mountains in an old style train where you can stand on the balcony of the caboose. This is pure BS because Im downloading these train vids from an idea from the head nurse at the hospital/nursing home where moms been for over a year!

They planned to pull the plug on her last Friday and today. I got them to give me a week.... (1)

  • 98 cars dang

  • One of my favorote Diesels.

  • one of my 5 favorite locos. they should bring a revamped version of the SD40 back. it was such a great loco.

  • I love the SD40-2 ,i wish they would bring it big and better and newer ,than before.

  • Good Vid! Fitting tribute to CSX and lines like The Old Reliable(L&N),SCL,ACL,SBD,and of course B&O and C&O,which all passed by my location.

The main line was leased for 99 years by the old ACL.CSX now owns the KD sub, main line where i see lots of action at times. Thanks for sharing! Brainy

  • Thanks.

  • Those newspaper stands are too close to the tracks.

  • Hey bbba2781,I understand the to version as the Canadian SD with the Nose Light and the American SD with the Roof Light, but do you know the differences betwen the M or the T or any other version of the SD?

  • Not well versed on all the variations. Some where specific to certain railroads like Conrail. Like cab equipment and type. Others are mods done later on usually down grading the HP. WIKIPEDIA actually has some info on this stuff.

  • I thought the M referred to a widecab (the Canadian version) and T meant that it was a tunnel motors (like SP)

  • @balddanny72 yer rite

  • @bubba2781 the t is for tunnel motors from out west, they are specially made so the the exhaust going thru tunnels dont gum up the works, and the m is for wide cab

  • The locations and types of headlights were road specified, so you can't tell which plant an SD-40 was assembled at by this feature. Look @ SP or DRGW SD's and they have lights all over the place, including Mars lights!

  • What were those trains called?

  • These two trains are called autoracks by many people, autotrains by others. Either way these railcars are designed to transport cars from the factory to local centers where they are loaded on trucks and taken to deals.

  • that car almost didn't make it, lol good vid 5 Stars

  • thanks

  • you're welcome

  • wow your lucky to have this crossroad gr8 work and me too 5 stars

can you tell me where is located if i go there ill film this that sure ?

happy 2009 and train on !!!!

  • This is a the Riverdale MD. MARC train station just outside of Washington DC. If you go there during the day you will see a number of trains.

  • that first train is really long and really great vid 5 stars favorties and subscribed

  • Thanks, glad you liked it. Thanks for the sub too.

  • Really nice work! NelsonArtWorks has some really fine B&O railroad prints and you can also get them directly from the B&O Railroad Museum too.

  • Great rugged machines!

  • While it is true that C&O and WM did not own SD40-2's, those CSX units in the 8300-8488 number range, many of which are former C&O and WM units, were converted from SD40's to SD40-2's likely after becoming CSX property.

  • cant nothin beat da sound of working SD40-2s at full throttle.....with a Dash 8 unit thrown in for extra umph!

  • Weres Minnie Mouse

  • awesome video! SD40-2's are great but don't zoom in and out so much. 5 stars though!

  • these trains are Juggernauts they'll never stop doing work!!! How much does a Freight Engineer get paid a year. For Cargo and stuff. Especially important Cargo like Chemicals. What kind of Chemicals do they transport.

  • Depends on the class railway. THere are class 1, class 2, class 3. Class 1 would pay 70,000 to 100,000. CLass 3 would pay little less. I know they don't pay much.

  • L&N!!

  • These trains are are so long! Great video!

  • type of locomotive?

  • I'm a 70's & 80's railfan, and grew up with SCL righ tbehind my house, this is classic! 5*

  • Cat You Idiot

  • ????

  • never se them up here.

  • Love that horn!

  • COOL!!!

  • Interesting to see both the Canadian built SD (1st one) and the American built SD (2nd) No engine caries a better POWER sound than thatof the SD's,I know they re getting old...I hope they remain for a while yet.Great video.

  • Does all of Q276 terminate service at Jessup, MD or just some of it?

  • According to the information I have Jessup is the terminal for this train. Q216 goes on to Baltimore but not 276.
