Recently, documents have come to light which the Vatican has not yet denied proving that the pope protected pedophile priests and covered up their crimes. It proves that the pope is more interested in protecting his church and priests than the little children whose souls his church is entrusted with. really? hmmm. I recall there was an awful lot of gold in every catholic church I have ever been too. And there is always more people that need than they attempt to provide for. My grandfather was a state president of the St. Vincent D'Paul. He was a good man and while he ran that charity they did a lot of good. But he quit because the archdiocese ordered him to stop giving food and other assistance to people who did not belong to his church. They threw away food while children starved.

I'm making this statement from a completely secular stance. I, in all honesty, cannot see how abortion is not murder. What is inside the females body will become a life. I may be Catholic but approx 80%of my closest friends are hardcore atheists and most of them are Pro-Life simply because they feel that since there is only one life and nothing else than it's wrong to deny someone that chance to live. They believe that even if it's hard for the existing life, or the future life of the embryo is hard--they can still get out of it. So for anybody that wants to say that pro-lifers are religious fanatics is very ignorant indeed.
I am a Catholic and Pro-Life but as much as we strive to protect the dignity of human life, we must all understand that the next President of the United States has no say in the matter of abortion, unless he has the power to elect a Supreme Court Justice. We must look more into the candidate's will to do the best for the country in these hard times.

really? hmmm. I recall there was an awful lot of gold in every catholic church I have ever been too. And there is always more people that need than they attempt to provide for. My grandfather was a state president of the St. Vincent D'Paul. He was a good man and while he ran that charity they did a lot of good. But he quit because the archdiocese ordered him to stop giving food and other assistance to people who did not belong to his church. They threw away food while children starved.

Sorry to break it to you, but Catholics and other Religious factions only have so much sway in the implantations of government programs. Its a nice idea that charities would try to help but they are not broad reaching.

There are so many religions out there with priests or pastors, or whatever you call them, who do things like molest people - but thats just humanity. What about rape? What about incest? These horrors defy descriptive condemnation. They represent the least human and most selfish acts imaginable - along with murder - and they deserve swift and severe punishment. A woman or girl abused by rape or incest should be seen promptly, evaluated with compassion and treated appropriately to prevent conception. Should pregnancy occur, the tragedy should not be compounded by another crime: Murdering the baby.

Your argument doesn't seem too thought out. There's already life and there's already rights to protect those lives. But the world isn't perfect, so we should go about trying to make it perfect, regardless if it ever will be.
Why can't we try to do both at the same time? Saving children from being aborted and making sure they're growing up in a safe healthy environment full of opportunities? Is that such a bad idea instead of only voting against abortion?

Why do unborn children seem to matter more than everything else, including children? Doesn't Global Warming matter as it will affect everyone. Doesn't health-care matter so that everyone can live a healthy and productive life. Doesn't education matter so children born and unborn can make a better future for themselves.
If you only vote based on abortion you're basically saying nothing else matters but unborn children being born. Not even the unborn child's future and the world they grow up in.

Gee... these things aren't mutually exclusive! Being pro-life means that you support life from conception until natural death. So once the child is born, they are to be looked after. Even Mike Huckabee says the greatest disappointment in the pro-life movement is only fighting for life around the time of gestation and not at ALL TIME PERIODS in the life cycle. It's on YT. The Catholic church has such an obsessively one track mind when it comes to abortion. Most Catholics, even those opposed to abortion in principle, have the practical sense not to prioritize this issue above all others the way the church encourages them to. 99.99% of what a President, or any elected official deals with has nothing to do with abortion, and those issues with which they do primarily concern themselves (taxes, economic policy, foreign policy)effect far more peoples lives.

The bible is neither good, nor true, and the fact is that believers don't read it with an honest, objective mind. Bible has almost as many mistakes as it has words. It is filled with thousands of errors, contradictions, and outright nonsense. Time and time again it has proven to be false. Most religious people refuse to accept this, because it's not what they want to believe. "The Truth" is that bible is ridiculous-- full of the most foolish absurdities. It has no place in the modern world.
