Others "adopted" soul, jazz, & gospel music based on having liked what they heard. No one is "born" w/ soul. Soul results & is based on the music you're exposed to & the adaptions you place on what you've heard. Robin Thicke exists because of his "adaption" to soul & gospel music he listened to & loves.
