Ha ha! She reminds him he's not been on telly for ages, and 0:08, for a split second, his expression says "What, is she taking the piss?", before he compses himself!
Hi, does anyone know of the space type programme (was a bit like the crystal maze but for kids) which was on directly after play away on bbc2 on saturday afternoons?? please been trying to think of it for ages!!
this chap was fantastic ,,,and deserves more than the crap T V that is on at the moment .bring back play away ,,great people in that programme ,,,loads of talent ,,this chap needs to be brought back on to TV
I saw him selling VHS tapes of Dappledown Farm at a car boot sale in Chalfont St. Giles about 12 years ago. And he gave me a really dirty look, absolutely no idea why.
@LarryBundyJr lol...i saw brian in Chalfont St. peter around the same era in the local Tithe Barn (youth Club) selling costume jewellery that he and his wife made. he was very pleasant though, with no dirty looks.
@LarryBundyJr Peters is nearest uxbridge and biggest village in england/britain and Giles's is.....well, ummm, errrrr where all the rejects live next door lol.
@LarryBundyJr met roy castle (rip) plentya times but have also met hundreds of what they call (so called celebrities) in the area + lots of footballers. most polite i have met here was jasper carrot and robert lyndsey and i thought denis wise was a schoolboy he was so bleedin small lol.
@SixEightySeven Completely agree. The man was an absolute pioneer for good British Children's TV programs. Has one of those warm and lovely voices. Brian, wherever you are (Buckinghamshire I believe?!), I hope you are as well as can be and know that you're greatly missed on children's TV.
@Texbaslery This true? How sad! Brian Caant was one of those warm familiar faces who are part of one's childhood such as Tony Hart, Rolf Harris, Floella Benjamin, Geoffry Hayes, Derek Grifiths etc, etc,.
Search "Camberwick Green" & listen to his voice from Cira 1967-8. I'm 50 & it almost reduced me to tears. I'm glad he's getting a BAFTA on 28 Nov 10 & I wish him all the best re dealing with Parkinsons disease.
I used to love watching Brian make a CANT of himself:)
I thought he was particularly brilliant in bric-a-brac with just about each word spoken on a given item in the shop beginning with the same letter. So superbly done.
Doesn't look crestfallen to me. looks like he always did//is: a perfect English gent, the epitome of good manners, and everyone's favourite surrogate uncle.
She could have been a bit more sensitive than that, couldn't she. Brian Cant was an absolute legend to me in my pre-school days; just searched for 'Bric a Brac' on Youtube but no-one's uploaded any episodes.
I still remember it so vividly though- the theme tune, the clockwork toy at the end and even the stuffed bear which stood in the corner of the junk shop- despite the fact that I had barely turned four years old when it originally went out.
@JapStrangler haha, I know; they either just didn't have the same passion for the job or were just plain old crap. ''Oooh, ah could croosh a grep...''
really talented unlike today!

I wouldn't say he's acting crestfallen.
He's just discussing things as he sees them

Sadly, these days Brian is battling Parkinson's disease. Like Tony Hart and Johnny Ball he is a legend to british 40 something kids everywhere.

@pufferfishish Between him and Derek Griffiths, they had children's tv sewn up. Tragically, we also had Roy North and Stu Francis.
