  • 11:10... there is no post man in southpark

  • I use Coca-Cola to brush my tooth.

  • great interview! i've been looking for something like this.

  • Agreed. This is my third time watching.

  • Quite possibly one of the top geniuses in american media today. The show is so dam funny so smart and the liberal douchebags who condem it for its insensitivty and the conservative dicks who claim shows like this lead to the degeneration of morals, can go fuck themselves.

  • this is one of the smartest shows on television. and im not sure that they are republicans, they rip on everybody and everything. All they do is reflect what is really going on in society. it probably just goes over your head. whateva i do what i want. lol best show ever

  • They're libertarians. It's actually pretty obvious if you think about what most of their messages are.

  • lol can you go two thoughts without referring to people as republicans and democrats

  • Unfortunately season 12 was absolute worst.

  • I don't know, Tonsil trouble and the Obama episode were genius in my book =/

  • I thought it was really good

  • Trey Parker looks like Kevin Trudeau here... cool! I like them both!

  • lol, does charlie watch SP ?!

  • Did you go to school?

  • oh my god they killed kenny

  • Wow they wrote everything themselves....unbelievable.. amazing!!!

  • Great M&T interview.

  • lol kennys eyes

  • i love south park and i just noticed that some photos of jeffery dahmer bear a strong resemblence to matt stone lol.

  • Long live South Park!

  • south park is the best television show ever made.

  • Amen. And it always will be.

  • ye they really have lost so much hair!! I really noticed that from Trey,Matts hairs better now than he was years ago with the frize ball on his head. Its so sad actually, they can't get old or they'll be retiring soon :(

  • It is hettin a bit old.

  • They have gotten so much hotter over the years!

  • Totally. And they seem to be losing more and more hair. I have this goofy theory that the stress of working on Team America made them lose hair because every since they did Team America, they seemed to lose more and more hair.

  • *poor

  • they're good for at least another 3-5 years. i mean they proved that with the last few seasons.they just keep getting consistently better, this last season was ridiculously good.

  • 'john cheese'?!?! i'm surprised they let him get away with that, being big python fans and all'. i really liked cloverfield, btw, and here in greece we have quite a lot flute bands playing in the streets, but they're mostly native american. mostly.

  • Trey looks kinda sexy in this! :-)

  • Nah, he's ALWAYS sexy!

  • blastingcaps-Fuck you.

  • How original.

  • Why would Jerry Seinfeld care about being able to celebrate Christmas?

  • Greatest duo in history. Season 12 of South park was the worst of them all, but its still a good show. Hope south park never die.

  • season 11 and 12 was the best of the all retard, the high school musical episode is the greateset show ever cant wait for the commentarys on that one!!

  • You should watch season 8 entirely for exemple. And after that, if you think season 12 is better, than there is a problem.

  • I don't know, I like season 12. Matt and Trey did fuck up a few times with Britney's New Look and the Pandemic series, but other then that, it was great. The Breast Cancer Show Ever, Major Boobage, and Elementary School Musical were classics.

I can't find the reason why people don't like season 12, I mean, why is it? What's the problem with season 12?

  • There is no real problem with season 12 I think, but for me (I've been watching South Park since the pilot 12 years ago), this season was not complete like the others.

And I understand, Trey and Matt done so much that its becoming harder each year.

I admit that Breast cancer was really good (Snatch and Three O'clock reference).

The ungroundable was good (The Goth Kids are always great). Some episodes were just ok.

Still, I hope it will be on air for many many years.

  • Don't we all? My only regret from the 12th season is Kenny didn't fucking die. Though next season is 13, the unlucky number, hopefully he'll die more often then.

  • What's so funny about Kenny dying?

  • He's poor.

  • So he should die because he's pore?

  • Yes.

May I ask why exactly you watch the show- if you do? Because if you don't find Kenny's deaths funny, it doesn't seem like you would even like the show at all because South Park is filled with that kind of humor.

  • I watch it because I find it funny. I do believe it has gone down hill a lot though. So the humor is dying? I don't think so. I just never found Kenny dying funny.

  • What about "About Last Night"? They spoofed the election the day after it happened.

  • i liked Britney's new look, and Pandemic.

  • Eh, Britney's New Look was good, but then fell apart in the 2nd and 3rd acts. Pandemic was that bad, but I've never met ANYONE who's seen a peruvian flute band. The plots on the two were kind of lame, which I guess is the reason I didn't like them.

  • yeah, i've never seen a peruvian flute band either. i just hated cloverfield, and enjoyed the parts with Randy runnion around with the camera (not even close to there best work though)

  • that was probably the worst episode of the season

  • I wondered if they supported Ron Paul too, but then came to the conclusion that they probably didn't since he was half-crazy.

  • hahahaha!

    So much laughing.

  • i still wonder if they supported Ron Paul, i really think they would but i doubt they would ever say who they voted for

  • Rose really opened up to them. Great interview.

  • ...

Charlie Rose. The guy interviewing them. ...wow.

  • These guys are fantastic. Humble, creative and hard workers. Just remarkable.

  • you know, as soon as they cut to break, and smith started talking about her book, I lost interest..

    sorry. lol.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! I just completely ignored the book interview. Who could follow Matt and Trey???

  • true revolutionaries

  • lol.

  • Wow, they look way different from Baseketball.

  • on a friday.

  • it's amazing how different Matt looks without his Jew-fro XD

  • he looks like michael serra and elijah wood combined

  • they could solve all the worlds problems if they had a chance

  • Stone/Parker 08 or is it Parker/Stone 08 ?

  • r u gay?

    ...a little.

  • the second half of season 12 is scheduled to start october 8th

  • Man to have the life of a writer like those two have. Cool guys.

  • '"Did you go to school?'' xD

  • ahahahahaha! i had to rewind and watch that again, it was so out of the blue. "did you get an education?" XD

  • when r Matt and Trey gonna make new South Park Episodes? the 12th Season was good but short .....but i love the "ImaginationLand" Triolgy

  • New episodes start Oct. 8!

  • Cartman would need 20 years to explain. lol.

  • i didnt get the part of being like the finance minister of india at 6:21-6:24!?! did south park do anything on this??

  • Should be hours of this. This is to good.

  • these are more or less my 3 favorite people ever

  • Matt & Trey are the last bastion of sanity in this insane world. You make a fellow Coloradan proud!

  • long....but good

  • Thats what she said

  • how did they not tear him apart for saying John Cheese

  • That's his real name, he changed it to Cleese.

  • oh if only tv was the same, episode airs on wednesday writing for next episode begins on thursday, episode airs next wednesday

  • Hmm. I wonder if John Cleese has ever seriously considered referring to himself as John Cheese.

  • It was his nick name at uni...

  • God these men are Gods!

  • It seems to me that Parker and Stone are great friends from way back and of course are super creative together and that Parker is the one unbounded.

  • Keep it up, guys!

  • It's like they're saying, they're not smart enough to have the answers, but they have a good douchebag radar.

  • I love these men!

  • Matt looks gorgeous here!

  • trey's real voice is so similar to so many people in the show its hard not to laugh at everything he says. it doesnt help that almost everything he says is funny as hell.

  • MATTS AFRO IS FUCKING GONE!

  • It has been for a LONG time.

  • Excellent interveiw with Matt and Trey for many reasons. For one it is another reason to commend the talent these 2 men have as they are both very smart and creative as proven time and time again. Another is that Matt was able to show his qualities in this interveiw, I always get the feeling Trey is the more respected and dominant out of the 2 of them. Also very funny especially the 'are u gay.. a little' and 'I love Geroge Bush and my gun'. Very funny. They deserve more for their efforts.

  • They are attractive men!

  • VERY true.

  • Excellent interview.

  • did he ca;; john cleese john cheese?

  • they are my heroes(matt and trey).

  • Satire - a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.

Sounds like South Park as a whole, so yes, South Park can be considered satire. I imagine Mark Twain would be enamored with South Park if he were still alive.

  • You're right. It's good you don't watch the show.

  • It's a real shame that you can't see anything as metaphor or analogy, and that you're first sentence voided your last paragraph. Do you watch Family Guy or something? Are you not aware of their mini series 'That's My Bush!'?

For someone who doesn't like the show you sure know a lot about it!

  • "That's My Bush" was more of a situation comedy; the humor was pulled out, yet again, from the fact, what Bush is(US president who does all goofy & unrelated stuff), not what his administration really does.

I watched seasons 1-5 before I grew up and then I watched an episode now and then when my friend, an avid fan himself, recommended me one.

  • So absolutely all comedy needs to be hardcore satire? Could it not be possible that they are poking fun at the way the media presents Bush? Are you really that blind?

  • 1.Yet again that is not my point, don't misinterprete me on purpose

2.Satire which doesn't have the balls to mock those in power is like a castrated stud

Moreover Matt & Trey tend to "satirisize" their targets in a schoolbully way, less used form in satire. They are the likes of who sit in the back of the class, point at other people and humiliate(not ridicule) them in front of the class

In short, Osama and Mel Gibson are funny 'cause in SP they act like morons albeit totally out of character

  • whoa whoa...south park is lacking wit?

and how are they afraid of mocking those in power?

if you think both of those statements are true, i dont think you have seen some of the best episodes.

i mean, they have lost cast members and narrowly dodged many many lawsuits because they had the balls to mock the people in power.

i suggest you watch the episode "britney's new look". it is a pure satire of modern culture, that, while not funny, meets the definition of satire in every way.

  • I think south park does use wit. Mark Twain laughed at popular icons all the time, and he wasn't always the first. Satire doesn't mean you're the first to ridicule a topic.

Matt and Trey don't ridicule someone because they don't like them, not all the time anyway. That is a common mistake committed by those without a sense of humor. Humor is a natural coping mechanism. The reason you don't find jokes on some people funny is probably because you have a harder time coping than Matt and Trey.

  • how are you allowed to make a video this long?

  • are you people really that stupid? liberative??? are you kiddint me! its no wonder we are a falling empire

  • omg!! this is like the longest fucking video in youtube!!

  • god bless you matt and trey....you make fun of everything that needs to be made fun of...

  • that was an awkward ending

  • John "Cheese" of Fawlty Towers. :)

    John Cheese?

  • John Cleese's name is actually John Cheese. Cleese is his professional name.

  • They even captured the way he mispronounces terms on South Park :)

  • two powerful interviews...for completely different reasons with the common thread being a resounding sense of humility.

  • The South Park interview should have been 4 hours.

  • I wish South Park lives forever.

  • I'm surprised no one mentioned the following Zadie Smith interview, which was full of enlightening observations on popular culture. Great exchange between Rose and Smith.

  • Being in media myself, I totally believe Trey Parker when he says that South Park is no fun to do. It's late nights and hard work and you don't ever get to rest on your laurels and enjoy your success.

I don't feel sorry for them, though.

  • They only work on SP 5 months a year. Granted they have other projects, SP is cakewalk compared to Team America. I think TAWP almost burned them out.

  • I just have one thing to say!!

    The best show ever!!!

We could be offended or ashamed of what these guys say through the show.... but we cannot deny that it is the truth!!

SO... JUST GO WITH IT KID!! OR GET THE FUDGE OUT!!!

Screw you guys!! I'm going home!!!

  • With so many Matt & Trey fans, how come nobody saw team America?
