I had one close call like that I was right near a window when a bolt hit the ground directly outside & since then I was really shit scared of storms, However now I find that the best way too get over a fear of storms is too sit out the back & watch them which I enjoy doing. I guess after seeing this video you will understand why you should stay away from windows during a storm.

the closest i ever came to a strike was on top of Mt Dandenong, Vic, a mate and i were walking next to the channel 10 t.v. tower when it was hit, the sound of it was amazing, but i think u win.
