This equals anything that any of the great poets of any language have written. I am fluent in Japanese, Russian, English, French and Latin. The love expressed here is forbidden by my Faith, yet, sir, you are, again, a master. Have you published this, either on CD with your magnificent reading, or in a volume of poetry. God in Heaven, you are a genius, another Yeats or Coleridge. You give hope to the literature of the banal, coarse, war-torn 21st century.
This is so beautiful, and captures the true emotions. This is true love and both Antinous and Hadrian have given to us a legacy of great beauty,,,,I am stunned
Wonderful, tempered only by knowledge of the ultimate fate of Antinous. I have read Greek plays, Greek and Roman history, and Mary Renault's well researched, well crafted historical novels. These words and this reading bring back the deep experience and vivid images formed in my memory over those years. In regard to an historically earlier union, if only the recent film 'Alexander' had been crafted with such care and communicated as powerfully rather than so unevenly as it was!
Beautiful. It captures the sensual effects of love, those memories and effects of charming smiles and beautiful locks of hair, those signs of the most natural beauty in my opinion, as opposed to the more vulgar sluttery; and the love itself, though sensual, is void of that crude vulgarity which makes love but lust, or if love, self-love. The love is purely sensual, we might say and when I hear it, it makes me despise the modern love portrayed in the "Arts". The music is good--goes witht he metre

I've learned the story of love between them, very romantic and ironic.
When Antinous died, Hadrian was mourning the death of Antinous, and he built the magnificent places in memory of Antinous :'(

Imcomparable rapture. What equivalent is there today in any language that could express
desire and love so imaginatively, sensually, and persuasively?
