@photolitherland  When i look around the world and ponder creation and how intricate everything is, and the fact that all of Jesus deciples were brutally murdered because they would not renounce their faith (what did they have to gain if they did not belive he was truly the Christ. I mean if they knew he was fake why would they die for him, and not just one but all.) I cannot deny that there is a God and that Jesus is Christ. Christ commanded this "to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength" and to "Love your brother as yourself." Most so called "Christians" do neither of these two things. They serve only themselves and look down on others, but they think because they said some prayer or go to church that they are going to Heaven and the bible never says anything of the sort. Your right helping others and being kind to people are some of my core beliefs. But....

@photolitherland Second, Most of the people that claim to be "christians" do not seek to know Chirst. Most have barely even opened their bibles (how can they say they are a christian (a follower of Christ) when they don't even know what Christ commanded). So they try to do everything a Christian is supposed to do to earn their way to heaven. Which is crap. Christ never preached religion. If you look at the life of Christ he actually despised the religious people the most.

@photolitherland Please hear me out, First I want to apoligize. "Christians" have really screwed up alot of crap. I would guarentee that most people you have talked to or chated with or have come into contact with that say they are a "Christian" are really not. Anyone who will condem a person, act as though they are better than a person, or believe that religion will save them is not a Christian. Christianity is about studying the life of Christ and believing in his word enough to follow him.

@photolitherland Jesus paid for our sins so that we may be reconciled to God. All we have to do is believe that Jesus died for us and turn to him. Photolitherland, God loves you, and he is pursuing you right now even though you might not acknowledge it now, i pray that he will reveal himself in such a way that you will not be able to run from it. @photolitherland God loves every creature he created. That is why he sent his only son to be a ransom for every person who would believe in him. That way "NO ONE" or "Who so ever believes in him" would not have to perish but have eternal life. In Romans it says all have sinned and fall short. So really the picture is not that God is sending people to hell, but that all humanity is running away from God. He is pursuing us, and it is our choice to listen or to turn away.

@photolitherland so we have two concepts working at the same time, God knows everything and saw everything before it was created and God gives us a choice. Now I know human logic would say this is impossible, these two things can't exist at the same time, God says in Isaish 55:9"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." The best way i can explain this is, try and tell an ant about calculus and see how much it comprehends

@photolitherland, just because someone doesn't believe in something doesn't mean its not real. No matter what stance you take on creation or any other debatable topic, you have to have faith to believe in one or the other because there is no actual proof. The bible clearly lines out that God knew what he was doing before he made the earth, and unfortunately, this is not all about us. Everything is supposed to give God glory. But scripture also talks about God giving us a choice.

@photolitherland U are defining God as an evil being, when he is just. Just means having moral excellence and giving out consequences based upon our own actions. Consequences meaning heaven and hell. Which are both real places! You have sinned, I have sinned, pastors have sinned, scientists have sinned and we will continue to sin forever. Since we have sinned we deserve hell, but we all are offered the same thing, salvation. It is our choice whether we accept it or not, does that make God evil?

Wow....someone likes to talk. Anyway I would like to know how you characterized God as evil? I have read the old testament, but maybe since i am so "uneducated" you, as an "educated", geologist can enlighten me. Also, where did you get that I concluded that the Earth is 5000 years old? You might have read my post too fast or something, but i never concluded on an approximate date. Please write back, maybe with more pleasant terms. Have a great afternoon!

Have you thought of completing the Bible? Genesis is one of 66 books, might be helpful to read it all before making a conclusion. Also about studying Geology....you can see evidence of large-scale, high-energy deposition of sediments, contortion of rock layers, displacement of mountains, rapid movement of rock units, devastation of organisms and massive erosion which would directly correlate with the biblical account of worldwide flood, stated in Genesis.

God's Word speaks of such people - Matt 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord!' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but [only] the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. On that day many will say to Me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name? ' Then I will announce to them, 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!"

So many times, we take a single verse and make a 1-hour sermon out of it. We need more scripture on Youtube and coming off of our pulpits... whole chapters at a time... chapters in a row and books in a series.

The church has done a lot of terrible things, and that is sad that that's the only picture of Christ many people see. But i know people are human and make mistakes. The Jesus of the Bible is the picture of Christianity I suggest you look at. Where people are first and yourself is second and God's love overcomes every mistake I'll ever make.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, but, personally, I don't like church. I don't believe in submitting. I don't believe in obedience - I believe in thinking for yourself!!!! I certainly don't believe in anything the church has to say. Nor do I believe in God. The church has done so many terrible things. Mostly, I think it's for delisional, brain-washed people. But, of course, as I said, we're all entitled to our opinions.
