Not enough O2 to his skin may = faster aging; to the brain, well, that goes w/o saying. It can also cause severe recession of gums, making the teeth appear longer, or fang-like. But it doesn't make him immortal or powerful (or a punisher).
@MrsCop I haven't read up on that condition (porphyria); re: Vlad, from memory, yes he impaled people but the vampire connection is a fiction attached to him by Bram Stoker.
@MrsCop My late business partner developed that condition as a result of liver damage from heavy drinking, it used to make him really ill at times & he was loosing previously healthy teeth through gum problems, he didn't stop drinking though hence the late aspect! As I understand it, there are quite a few things that can cause the condition, certain types of poisoning being one, but it's never been attributed to being a 'vampire' as far as I know..lol.
@Catsclaw00 If the gums are receding, it can give the appearance of being 'long in the tooth.' And I know, in the past, sufferers of this disease were driven to drinking blood (don't know why). So, I guess someone with long, fang-looking teeth, caught drinking blood might fall into the 'vampire' category, well, Hollywood's version of it. So sorry to hear about your business partner! @MrsCop My late business partner developed that condition as a result of liver damage from heavy drinking, it used to make him really ill at times & he was loosing previously healthy teeth through gum problems, he didn't stop drinking though hence the late aspect! As I understand it, there are quite a few things that can cause the condition, certain types of poisoning being one, but it's never been attributed to being a 'vampire' as far as I know..lol.
