They didn't have the giant index cards that were used in the CBS and NBC versions but these cards are used in GSN's revival "Catch 21" hosted by Alfonso Ribiero.
Anyone know what Wink Martindale was up to in 1990? It would've been great to see "Gambit" with Wink on three different networks (CBS in the '70s, NBC under the "LVG" title in the '80s and this on ABC in the '90s).
Of course, it would've also been nice to see Wink host 1990's revival of TTD -- but that's another issue for another time.
And yes, Wink would've been a better choice for the TTD '90 revival instead of Mr. "YOU WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!" as host. Heck, he could be doing Catch 21 instead of Alfonso right now!
@cartoongameshowman The sound effect when the card is inserted on the players' screens if from "WordPlay" when the celebs definition card was placed in front of them.
Weird that a non-Goodson show used the sound effect from Trivia Trap and Family Feud.

I rather like the set. This seemed to have pretty good potential.

@dmota104 I don't know about 1990, but pretty soon he would be involved with a few interactive games on cable.

Just $10,000? Psssht...pass.
I'm kidding :-). I miss the days of game shows with simple budgets...kinda over the million dollar games.

Tony was certainly no slouch when it came to game shows...I've also spotted Tony on To Tell The Truth, Scrabble, and Jumble.
