Id put the Big 12 a step ahead of them, they were definetly overrated. People get giddy over huge offensive numbers but people seemed to forget that they just wouldn't play defense and that got exposed so far during the bowl season. Id rank the conferences this year as SEC/Pac-10 at the top Big 12/ACC then Big 10/Big East/MWC(not BCS but Id put them here)
i think the hardest for me is deciding which is the best conference because in my opinion the fab 5 of the pac 10(AZ,cal,uo,osu,usc)are better than any five teams in any conference despite only having 10 teams, however, the pac 10 has some lousy bottom feeders such as wsu,uw, but i don't know how much emphasis u put on that. and i don't think that the sec is all that deep either, asu>auburn,ucla>vandy,stanford>south car. IMO and the round robin and ooc schedule makes pac 10 the hardest.
Only this year is Auburn down, they will be back up soon and Id put them at the top against the Pac-10, only under USC. UCLA blows but vandy isnt too much better, Stanford is decent and Id say they are par with Spurrier's cock(s)Id match up the top 5 or 6 of the SEC against the top 5-6 of the pac-10 any day. Flordia, Bama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee. It isn't even close in terms of conference depth. (yea Tenn, Auburn are down but that is rare)

you cannot compare teams by common opponents. They play each other at different weeks. Each week is its own entity. BYU got lucky to beat 0-12 Washington, and then dick slapped UCLA all over the field, UCLA was clearly a better team than washington, you can find examples to support that all over the place.

I haven't seen the ducks be real competitive with SC for years. SC is in the upper echelon of College Football, while Oregon is not. Basically after SC, Texas, OU, ND, UF, FSU, UT, UM, OSU, and Penn State everyone else is second tier in College football. And anyone who pays attention to what coach Carroll says knows he is a no BS guy, and I can say that honestly despite my hate for SC. I'm sure if he said it, it was warranted.

Id put the Big 12 a step ahead of them, they were definetly overrated. People get giddy over huge offensive numbers but people seemed to forget that they just wouldn't play defense and that got exposed so far during the bowl season. Id rank the conferences this year as SEC/Pac-10 at the top Big 12/ACC then Big 10/Big East/MWC(not BCS but Id put them here)

i think the hardest for me is deciding which is the best conference because in my opinion the fab 5 of the pac 10(AZ,cal,uo,osu,usc)are better than any five teams in any conference despite only having 10 teams, however, the pac 10 has some lousy bottom feeders such as wsu,uw, but i don't know how much emphasis u put on that. and i don't think that the sec is all that deep either, asu>auburn,ucla>vandy,stanford>south car. IMO and the round robin and ooc schedule makes pac 10 the hardest.

Only this year is Auburn down, they will be back up soon and Id put them at the top against the Pac-10, only under USC. UCLA blows but vandy isnt too much better, Stanford is decent and Id say they are par with Spurrier's cock(s)Id match up the top 5 or 6 of the SEC against the top 5-6 of the pac-10 any day. Flordia, Bama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee. It isn't even close in terms of conference depth. (yea Tenn, Auburn are down but that is rare)

see, this is exactly my point. osu went on the road and played utah, osu was up by 11 points with 1:28 to go and they lose to a last second field goal. unranked osu i might add. on the other hand, alabama loses 31-17 and the game wasn't even as close as the score indicated. alabama was virtually playing a home game AND alabama was ranked 4th in the country, oh AND utah was more impressive against alabama then florida was. no more room to type here so ill send u another comment about iowa.

you cannot compare teams by common opponents. They play each other at different weeks. Each week is its own entity. BYU got lucky to beat 0-12 Washington, and then dick slapped UCLA all over the field, UCLA was clearly a better team than washington, you can find examples to support that all over the place.

According to vegas it doesn't. but I hardly ever bet on lines in college football, I think it tarnishes the game and sometimes the lines get rediculous. Cal is a very good team, fast defense and Jahvid Best is great, but their schedule isn't too impressive as they played only three ranked teams all year and only one at home, the ONE time they came out east they got fucking waxed.

Iowa had a rough couple of weeks early in the season but finished hot, their 4 losses were by a total of 12 points, their average margin of victory was enormously higher.
