@myochanics Your comment made me cry. It is beautiful. Shema, Yisrael!! Taste and see that The LORD is good, blessed is the man who trusts in Him!! His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures unto all generations!
Psalm 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth!
@juba176 First, this is a movie. Meaning it is a story! Doesn't have to be a true story, even though it can be based upon actual facts. The people you see in the movie are ACTORS. Yes, I know these are real "Haredi" Jews, still they ACT a certain role. Just like any other movie, it is made to present, explain. revel, a view point, an opinion, a belief, or just to tell a story (you know, like one you read in books).
@juba176 Second, I know that my words are in vein because nothing I can say will make you understand how much damage you cause with your hatred and ignorance. One thing I have learned is that people who want to hate, don't need a reason. They just hate. Good luck with the rest of life. You gonna need it with that attitude.
If I am not mistaken the actor that played Moshe also wrote the script, and that is his real wife playing the wife as well. This movie hit home very much, and I am not Jewish. i loved this film, and this clip is by far my favorite, and I can certainly identify with the emotions.
The plot device regarding the etrog (citron) was as silly as was the two escaped convicts holding a barbecue in the courtyard.
First of all, these cons would be familiar enough with Jewish culture to know what an etrog is and why their host would have an etrog at that time of year. They wouldn't use it as a lemon for salad.
Second of all, if they're on the lam, hiding out, they aren't going to risk getting caught by being out in the open carrying on like they were.
It wasen't a perfect movie by any means, but it had some very strong EMOTINOAL parts, which were very human and well acted in my opinion. I agree the comedy parts were much weaker.
The movie is poor. Hackneyed in dialogue, full of cliche. The acting is stilted, but--what is to be expected from such suffocating roles as scripted?? Over rehearsed, but--what is to be expected from actors who have no experience?? They had to be drilled to pull off something halfway convincing for this claptrap. Lacking in originality and creativity.
There was some food for thought regarding matters of faith in Ha'Shem, but--the issue was forced just a tad bit. Typical Breslov Hassid drivel.
Even if the actor is a Breslov Hassid the character portrayal is shallow. Every cliche in the book was used. One would get a better perspective on traditional Jewish life from watching "Fiddler on the Roof".
It's a brilliant movie. The acting is superb. The story line is wonderful. It's not preachy and it doesn't have to be. It doesn't lecture the audiences. Instead it gives a glimpse into the world of personal struggle and spirtuality as well as devotion to the what's Holy. The movie captures an essence of Judaism that most of the world has no idea of despite the fact that we've been here as a people, a nation and a religion for thousands of years.

Badly scripted!!

Police don't go into areas like that in Israel, especially during a Chag, so they wouldn't have to worry about getting caught.

Suffocating roles?
The actor is a Breslov Hasid himself, so I can't see how you don't believe he does a good portrayal.

Yes, I'm sure that a Chasser-eating Russian like yourself knows traditional Jewish life better than religious Jews.
You clearly have not spent time with Breslovers.
