I used to be a U2 diehard and I thought they finally made it back with How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb looks like they went back to the PopMart era when they plain sucked. This song is absolutely horrible and I am very disappointed. I cant believe they charged $200 a ticket face value last tour. They are definatly not worth it. Do yourself and like I did become a Springsteen convert. more mature and seemed to care more than the Joshua Tree Era. Your success has clearly gone to your head.

Tell you what, I've listened to it a few times now, and it's growing on me, which is what U2 songs have always done, when I first heard "The Fly" I thought "god this is rubbish not the U2 I love" and then I went on to think it was fantastic and "Auctung Baby" was a masterpiece, same happened with "Discotheque" and "Pop" and the same with "Verigto" and their last Album. So I say listen again and give it a chance, the Album will be great to!! This is what makes U2 great!

Big U2 fan. First single that I can't really get into. I think the song would be much better if the chorus was different.Instead of "sexy boots," or "get on your boots;" maybe a deviation of the bridge for the chorus:

"Get into the sound, sound, sound,

Something like that, almost anything rather than POYB and "Sexy Boots."

Bright side...Bono' kids can sell it, it would make a good commerical song...for boots, of course.

"ELECTRICAL STORM" was the BEST "MAINSTREAM" U2 SINGLE ever released & it never made it onto an album...thats a (PRIME EXAMPLE) of how good even U2's B-sides can be! Dont judge an entire album you havent heard yet on the basis of a first single which is track No.6 on the album!

I CHALLENGE ANYBODY to listen to "ELECTRICAL STORM" & watch the video (directed by Anton Corbijn) & not be "AMAZED" at its LYRICAL, MELODIC & VISUAL GENIUS!

I am looking forward to hearing the entire CD. Out of all of their previous singles they have released, this is by far the wrose. From I Will Follow to Vertigo, all great. I have loved them all, The Fly, Numb, Discotheque, Beautiful Day (Even though the rest of the CD was very weak, Beautiful Day was great). This song does nothing...listened to it five to ten times...leaves me flat. Still looking forward to the CD.
