@v4mpir33d Both names have been used - it just that at certain times it was spelt one way in the English language, and at other times the different way.
@MrHistoryhelp We use images in the public domain, and that picture from the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle was the only one available. We would have preferred to use one that showed the actual entry, but alas, it was not possible.
Why many sources in my language link Domesday Book and Doomsday Book. Is it just simple mistake?

one of the pictures shows the anglo- saxon chronicle about the 8th century not the domesday book
